Do You Have Private Healthcare??
Ask a Question
With waiting lists for specialist appointments being years long, and having to wait weeks to see a gp - have you taken out a healthcare policy?
I took a policy out about a year ago, and even though I had to wait 6 months before I could use it, it was still quicker than waiting to be seen by nhs
No i personally don’t, i did consider going private for an operation about 10 years ago because the nhs were taking so long but didn’t actually go private in the end
PayItForward i think it took around 2 years because it was only nasal polyps. I had to have the surgery 3 times in total but didn’t have to wait as long the second and third times.
jms19 gosh, it’s a pity they couldn’t permanently sort them for you. I’m glad you didn’t have to wait too long
PayItForward well after the 3rd time it was sorted. That’s the thing with nasal polyps they can just keep coming back.
I dont have private healthcare but when my daughter was new born i did opt for some private healthcare at the time so she could have a procedure and blood test and im glad I did becuase the care was amazing and we were seen immediately
I don’t have insurance but if I needed a hip or knee I would just pay rather than be in pain.
Pjran my old plumber paid for his knee replacement. He said it was £15k 12 years ago. I’d hate to know how much it is now
PayItForward if you’re in lots of pain and the waiting list is years. Instead of months it could make you take too much sick leave and eventually your job.
I don't but my daughter in law does through her employer. Just as well as she would have been in terrible pain and waited ages for her recent back operation which would have cost around £9,000 plus all the physio and after care
Lynibis oh wow! it’s a good incentive she has with her employer. Maybe more will start to do this for their employees
I wish I could afford it, unfortunately I don’t . I used to be covered under my dad’s work but years ago which was nice but use NHS when needed.
