PS5 Pro Has Been Revealed and It'll Cost £699.99 (Or £779.99 with a Disc Drive)

In the News

I was disappointed with the announcement, the console looks like PS5 Slim v2.0 and to make matters even worse the disc drive is sold separately so as if it wasn't expensive enough as it is, if you want it with a disc drive then you'll have to fork out £779.99 or more (depending on availability of the disc drive device).

I won't be buying this as I dislike the console design and the price is unreasonably high for a console. For nearly a grand you're better off buying a gaming PC/Laptop.

It’s a lot of money isn’t it but if it gives you enjoyment in life then why not

SaveMeSunday Just too much money for a gaming console and the improvements probably aren't that noticeable.

I think this price tag is too much. Especially for single parents struggling to get by as it is. You know kids will have this one their Christmas list. Another example of greed from these massive companies

PayItForward An original PS5 with the disc drive can be bought on eBay for £300~350 so this is absurdly expensive.

Not to mention the disc drive is sold separately so that's an extra £80 or more (I saw a scalper on eBay/Vinted trying to sell it for £180... Yeah, good luck).

Leannexxx Plus you need to pay a subscription for online functionality and a few monthly free games which is £50 a year but the full package with streaming options is £100 a year or more if you pay monthly.

I still have a ps4 and a xbox one but I'm no longer updating them and don't subscribe to xbox live or psn plus. I'm now focused more on pc games for home gaming and android games for portable gaming. I'm quite a retro game enthusiast so much of my gaming time is playing older games often emulated. I also never got a Switch, it was such hopelessly underpowered hardware for the money so in the end never bothered as there are only a few Nintendo games nowadays I enjoy playing and they are mainly older games.

BonzoBanana I can only play on the old games because I feel sick playing the newer games I can't even watch a 3d film

BonzoBanana I never paid for the online subscription so yeah I didn't play online, other than the F2P games where online play is free.

If I use a PS with the latest firmware I have games I bought for it for cheap (during sales), via the PlayStation Store, but preferably? I much prefer to hack it as it gives a lot more freedom and liberty in allowing to do more stuff with it.

I'll happily live without it but no doubt I'll squander money on something else so no judgement.
