How Are You Coping Without Heating Allowance?
Ask a Question
Today was the day I put the heating on, although my dad’s allowance is no more due to incompetent / greedy government ..house was so cold was needed.
Who else has put their heating on this year??
I’m on holiday at the moment and don’t get home until late tomorrow night . Will see what it’s like Tuesday
Not yet. Definitely colder today though. I resorted to my hot water bottle for half hour and just hot drinks. Dressing gown and blanket. Don’t think it will be long though.
Yes we had it on too, it's really cold, we had it on yesterday and most of today , kids complaining they were cold
martinlufc5637 I don’t blame you especially when kids are cold bless em. I tried to resist but had to be done , house feels so cold. No likey!
We usually put it on when the clocks change but looks like it might be going on earlier unless l layer up with
Not yet, still have windows open, fans on and sleeping under a duvet cover (no duvet). And wearing shorts and t-shirt most of the time. I admit it is getting colder though but it's a nice comfortable temperature for me
Resisted until a couple of days ago. Turned the radiators on, nothing but cold. I've got to wait until tomorrow to report them not working. I got my fan heater from upstairs, and am having to use that. Unfortunately that just warms the main living room. Going to bed is very cold.
My husband put ours on for half an hour on Friday but ideally I'd like to leave it longer. Our house is always absolutely freezing so I've been watching TV sitting in bed in the evenings to keep warm.
Yes our heating is on plus we lit our open fire. I’m nearly always cold except when we have an heat wave.
Still just using an open sleeping bag as my bed cover at the moment with the duvet underneath. Still around 10 degrees or more at night. I'm starting to bring the sleeping bag cover further up so it covers my shoulders though. I certainly don't need to put on any additional heating at this point.
I have never changed the settings - but did notice the radiators came on Sunday mornings - first time for ages. Was quite nice!
we start with socks then a blanket, dressing gown then gloves ! if we're still freezing we go to bed
The heating definitely won’t be going on until November as we are away in the Caribbean in October then it will go off again as we are in the Canaries in December.
Got layers on; thin long sleeve top, a thin knit jumper more like a tshirt as there’s no sleeves lol and a fleece jacket wearing joggers and socks on to keep warm
Yes. I’ve had my heating on for a few weeks now. I feel when it reaches a certain temperature it’s needed to stop damp
Just to dry the washing not for personal need. I find a blanket and a water bottle enough.
We don't use the heating as it makes us bad with sore throat etc so just stick with the fire
No. My oh is tight and it's a miracle if it goes on by November. We wouldn't have heating if he had his way
Yes, we had our new radiator fitted on Monday, it goes the length of our back wall..
We tried it Monday & last night put it on when my partner picked me up from my sister's after playing Walking Football. I put the heating on & 30 min later we were toasty!
