I saw this headline and had to look up Uluru, it's Ayres Rock, I didn't know it was now going by its aborigional name.This is amazing, until you then realise that 18,000 in New South Wales have been evacuated.
I know this should not have been my first thought but it looks beautiful. Nature can be both brutal and beautiful simultaneously. Makes me glad I live where I do my little corner of the northwest has boring weather
It would have been a great thing to see this in person. Uluru was a place I wanted to visit, but since they've now stopped people climbing on the rock I've somewhat lost interest in going there. Getting an opportunity to see the waterfalls would have made the long journey more appealing.
I have not been there but it must be amazing just to be there and find out why it's considered such a sacred place.
