Do You Repair Your Clothes?

Yes I repair clothes. I had to repair some trousers last week after trying to pull a bit of cotton off the bottom. I undid the hem. It makes sense to repair and why on earth should you be rewarded?

Yes I have just had to patch a pair of work jeans,the pair i took a piece of,I've made in to shorts for gardening just looking at fabric dyes as I have a cotton jumper,can't get stain out & it's only been worn twice,anyone had success with fabric dyes for washing machine?

I always repair clothing if possible, if I can't it goes into the garage for bike rags!

No. I rather buy something new than waste my time doing an amateur repair which would cost me money to buy the missing button, zip etc.

Absolutely, and when they are beyond repair they get cut and used to make other things. I even serge torn tea towels and use.

Always yes, even if I'm donating them to a charity shop. I always repair them if they need doing so before donating.

It depends on how bad it is. If it's something you can't see then usually i get my mum to fix it for me. Otherwise I just get rid of it

as/when/if I am capable and/or I turn them into something else!

I always repair clothes,i also love revamping them&recycling&spare bitz of unwanted material i use as rags or patch ups....

It seemed to be the norm in the 70s. I remember going around in my jeans with patches on the knees.

Funnily enough I have an oldish good quilt cover which regularly needs repairing but I can't face buying a new one when a repair of an inch or two here and there along the seam will suffice. (I don't think I would get such a good quality in a new one either)

I'm a bit old school, will always repair something if i'm able to, don't tackle zips or anything too complicated though. I have some friends who don't even know how to thread a needle .

I used an old pillowcase to make a holder for my bed for kindle, spectacles and bedroom tv remote. Opened it out, sewed along the overlap bit to make 3 pockets and held the rest in place between base and mattress. Doesn't even show when quilt is over the bed and keeps bedside chest tidy with just lamp.

Keep phone in it overnight too!

Yes - I repair mine and would encourage others to do the same.

If it's a small repair I would have a go but if it's a zip then it goes to a professional sewing and alteration shop. They make it look a lot better than I could

Yes I do. If it is something I can't do myself then we take it to the local tailor. I often repair my sons clothes and have repaired my husbands work trousers over the years. I've repaired my leggings so many times I've lost count.

I would do if i had the knowledge to, unfortunately I can’t sew or anything like that. If clothes were more expensive i would repair what i have but my wardrobe is fairly cheap so pointless doing that.

Cheaper clothes aren’t made to last.

Yes, I always have as I hate chucking things away. I even repair socks…but often they get into a state when I really have to chuck them out!

I remember growing up with my mother mending my father's socks...I would love to do the same and pass this on to my grandchildren..but my hands are riddled with arthritis so I am challenged with such things

I did some sewing today. A small hole in a jumper, yes I know it’s summer but it’s not warm here. Unfortunately i can see the repair.

It’s like I have a lot of clothes to wear yet I’m like don’t have clothes to wear lol! I keep wearing the same clothes for a few years until they have shrunk I give them to charity or if they are so worn out with holes and tears in them I throw them away
