Has Anyone Experienced Changes to Asda's Refund Process?

Ask a Question

Just wondered if anyone has noticed that the refund process from Asda has changed? For a delivery you used to be able to fill out a form online using a 'request refund' button. I had a delivery yesterday. They arrived outside of the time slot so my daughter had to field it and I have a few things I'd like to claim back for. It now says I have to call through. Of course I can do this but it's a pain whereas old process used to be nice and easy! Not sure why they would change it - just seems to be more work for everybody!

I haven't used them for a while but agree that the old system was really easy, hearing about the changes has put me off going back there.

Thanks for the heads up. I had a delivery on Saturday (a.m) and the driver only had one carrier bag on board. Before I'm judged, I'm happy to pack into my own in the other supermarkets and provide bags but I paid for carriers. I ended up with £140 of food to pack into makeshift bags and boxes on my doorstep. There's no option to ask for a refund like this so I tried to ring.........and tried......and tried. I gave up in the end - the new system could've been the reason I couldn't get through.

Good to know. Thanks for the heads-up. To be honest, I'm the same as Imnotcheap. Hadn't noticed a change to the return and refunds process. There must be some benefit to ASDA from changing the process otherwise they wouldn't have done this. Short of going back to the old system, what one change could they make to the new system to make things easier?

I assume it's more in line with what other supermarkets do - also if it's more difficult to get a refund then I guess more people decide just not to go through the process.

I've had a similar issue with an online request, it's not possible to type the item in the box as it has a 'cancel request' button covering it so you're unable to proceed. I had managed to request a refund last week, wasn't as straight forward as before, really annoying! Am tempted to stop using them.

Charged for a duplicated order returned by driver to store nightmare customer care told refund 4 to 5 days - now 7 days no refund!!!!!

dave335d not sticking up for them as I really can't stand them myself. But it's likely to be 5+ working days so excluding weekends and bank holidays. I would expect it in the next day or so. Working days baffle me now as they tend to be open every day

The worst part of online deliveries, last thing you want to do is phone them up when they have sent out of date or damaged goods. I have been promised refunds by delivery drivers that turn up 2 hours early because they want to watch a football game, they can not do the refund then as they should not have delivered it, only problem is they forget to do it at all
