Reusing Old Grave Sites....

Ask a Question

With burial space rapidly diminishing, some are questioning whether it's time to consider reusing old graves.

The Law Commission warns that council cemeteries may only have 30 years of capacity left. Is it ethical to disturb previous burials to make room for new ones, or should we explore alternative solutions like cremation and eco-burials? 🌍

Yes, reuse and take care of them than leave it looking abandoned.

Personal I don't think they should be reused. This is something I find a little disturbing almost feels like once there is only bones left you are no longer a human being but an artifact !.

I don't think they should be reuse and most of the time people have paid for that plot so I think it's out of order really if it's that bad then it's should I be cremation

Why not? Keep the old headstones up as its part of history. I love reading old headstone. Honestly when I die I'm not going to care or know what's going so may aswell do whatever

I think the grave should be reused. My mum died when I was young and the plot was bought for 50 years. You can apply to the council to keep that plot for a price. As I have moved away from the area, it wasn't worth extending. I'm not sure what will happen to the headstone. I've told my family when I pass away I would like to be cremated.
