How Many Rubbish Bins Do You Have ?

Where I live we have three bins, green for general waste, Brown for food and garden refuse & blue for recyclable, they accept glass, tins, plastics, paper and cardboard.
I saw this article "You could soon have seven bins outside your house in rubbish shake-up"
If this is true, I won't have that much space left on my garden path !
We have black for general, which is collected every 2 weeks (3 max), blue bags for recycling every 2 weeks (unlimited) and a food bin which is collected every week (absolutely stinks in the summer).
Things are changing again soon, so who knows what they'll want us to do in the future.
We lucky we have wheelie bins so don't have to worry about animals getting into bags, we have a similar schedule to you. The recycling bin seems to fill up really quickly. Can you imagine how confusing it will be if there are several bins to put out 
I have four bins - one for recycling (grey bin), one for general waste (black bin), one for garden waste (lighter green bin) and one for food waste (darker green bin). They’re all collected every two weeks. We used to also have large tubs we had to separate specific recyclables into but now they all go in the recycling bin.
I have 3 wheelie bins blue one for recycling, green one for general waist and they are emptied alternate weeks, and a brown one for garden rubbish which gets emptied monthly and a box for glass which gets emptied with the blue recycle bin
With the exception on having to separate the glass you have the same colours same timetable as me
2 Wheely bins, black and small for non recyclable and that's done every week, green wheely bin for recycling that's collected every 2 weeks. I can pay extra I believe for a garden waste bin no idea of colour or how often it gets collected
Gosh, I though bins were provided. Non of our bins get collected ever week they alternate, every Mondays so bank holidays mess up our collection. The food waste (brown bin) is collected mid week every two weeks, luckily you can set up a text reminder
I have three. Green for general waste. Blue for recycling and brown for garden waste. All emptied fortnightly. I have to buy a separate license for the garden bin at a cost of £38 a year.
There's no additional cost for garden waste from our Council, as they also collect food waste. I suppose it's to be fair to those people who don't have gardens.
I'm not happy about having to pay them extra (is anybody ever?) but it is certainly more convenient than piling it in and out of the car and doing multiple runs to the local tip.
We have a grey bin for general waste, a brown bin for garden waste, a blue bin for recycling, a red box for glass and a small grey bin for food waste. They are collected on alternative weeks. You have to pay for the garden waste bin to be collected and they only empty it during certain months of the year.
Our new house has 4 or 5 bins.
Sorry I have only just noticed that you referred to a new house. I know you were preparing your house for sale, so congratulations and good luck in your new home. Even with all the bins

I'm excited and anxious at the same time. I've got pretty much everything packed, just the moving to do
Just remember a house is just bricks and mortar, whilst it's hard work moving. It's you and your family that make a house a home, so even amongst the chaos of unpacking remember it's just a temporarily state and once you get settle it be fine MrsCraig
beccatavender oh I don't mind the packing and unpacking. Its having to wait till our new house is ready and living with my parents that I'm anxious about! They haven't lived with a toddler for a while!
I think as long as you have a end date in mind, you can all live with it. Plus they might love having their grandchild around MrsCraig
beccatavender they will love having him around and it's only for a few weeks, just don't want to get under their feet
We have three bins:
Black - general household waste,
Green - garden 
waste
Grey - recycling (accepts glass, tins etc).
Ours go out every two weeks, for me it’s garden and black bin next week and following week recycling.
We have three bins black for general waste blue bin for plastic and glass and a brown bin for paper and cardboard. There's also a green bin for garden waste but have to pay extra for it
We only have 1 black bin. We used to have three but neighbour's took them and when we asked for them back we got shouted at and told to get them replaced by council
That's terrible, I've got our house number on my bins so that there is no confusion who they belong to
I have the same colour bins as you stated. What ever they do they should just make the it universal across all counties.
beccatavender it’s stupid. Town less than half a mile away from me has different procedures.
Three, green for household waste, blue for recycling (glass, paper and plastic) and we pay extra for a brown bin for garden waste we can't compost.
So far we have two wheelie bins which are free, the green for recycling and the black for household. We can then pay yearly for the garden waste one and we have a small black and orange food bin. Not much goes in there.
We got green bin general waste fortnightly, brown bin garden waste monthly seasonal. Small grey box food waste, weekly. Green boxes plastic glass, blue box paper cardboard. Fortnightly alternative to general waste, but ours changing in August. Recycling will be weekly. With weighted bag for plastic, cans. Thick cardboard, and paper and thin cardboard to be split in to two separate boxes. And glass in a separate box. So that going to take some getting used to. I'm in Scotland.
That seems really complicated, I suppose you get into the collection rhythm & you need to be really committed to recycling to do all that sorting

We have to pay for our rubbish bins by weight in Ireland! This encourages people to use the free recycling facilities. We have four bins which are barcoded to our address.
We dont have any bins just black sacks for general waste, clear bags for paper and recyclable plastic plus a crate for glass bottles. Plastic bags are collected weekly but the crate is monthly.

a box for glass which gets emptied with the brown recycle bin
They get emptied every 2 weeks (alternate, so a bin still goes out every week)
