Scammers on Vinted
Other
Was looking thru PS4 listings and noticed a ton of PS4/Switch Consoles for £50, and unsurprisingly it's all new users with zero feedback.
It's obviously a scam so don't fall for it.
That said, there's also genuine sellers and good deals from legitimate sellers.
I've heard lots of negative feedback about vinted recently, it's a shame as ebay really needs a decent competitor.
Midnightflower I've bought a PS3 on Vinted recently and am happy with it.
Also purchased a PS5 DualSense controller for £11 (it has an issue with the right analog stick hence not being fit to sell for the full price).
eBay does needs a rival, but sadly it's not going to happen. It's just too big of a brand and where everyone buys from. Plus, private sellers have to dispatch their items within 3 days or else their account gets penalized (it's kind of a job in that sense).
PhilipMarc There seems to be quite a few sellers on vinted listing stuff as good condition when it's not and then hoping the buyer can't be bothered as they have to pay to return costs. They've definitely not got everything covered like ebay which is a shame, I had hope to swap over and sell on vinted instead but I'm not sure it's financially worth it right now. I'll just have to put up with ebay terrible fees for now.
Midnightflower I use PayPal Business MasterCard for my online purchases so I'm covered if something goes wrong or need to return.
Already used once their PayPal Returns program this year, where they refund customers on shipping an item back to the seller. Coincidentally, it was an item from Vinted which the seller basically sold me garbage and I couldn't do anything with it.

There are some private sellers on eBay, Vinted, etc which don't bother cleaning or polishing the item they're auctioning. Sometimes it looks like they dug it up – It's that bad.
PhilipMarc It's gross isn't it. Why can't people just be decent.
I had completely forgot about PayPal returns, thats a great idea, thank you!
