Has Anyone Experienced the 'Brushing' Scam?

Today I have received an unordered Amazon package. I’ve heard and looked up a scam called brushing. I have also reported a repeat scam email to phishing security. Has anyone else had this and what did you do? Can’t find a place to report to Amazon. Has my name and address. Am I going to keep getting them and identity issues? Thanks.
Have you been charged for it, does it show as being ordered through Amazon? Is it a gift from a friend or relative? How does the scam work, it sounds as if you have got a free gift but need to know how the scam works to avoid it?
Lynibis Definitely not gifts, I would know, that’s not how my contacts work. My Amazon account balance is as it should be and I rarely pay online directly and don’t online bank. The items are not listed in my account order history either. Something to do with review ratings for sellers I’ve heard but they are not genuine and probably in my name.
Think there is a scam where people send the items to build their own Amazon reviews profile and not really an issue for the person getting the items other than possible annoyance getting unsolicited things. They tend to be cheap items in these instances.

A brushing scam is a marketing scam, because a parcel was received at the address, the sellers can leave fake reviews, it might not even be the product they sent you, it is often something with the same weight or size. This can be dangerous to anyone buying the susceptive item that they have left fake reviews on, so if it is an electric item it can devastate lives by fires or children's toys not being suitable for children causing injuries or even worse. So it is important that these are reported.
It won't often affect the person receiving the item, but it may open you up to more spam or unsuspected packages as they could sell or pass your details on to other scam companies as you will be known for falling victim to this scam and accepting it.
Interesting. Ne er heard of this. Not had anything sent to me that I hadn't ordered. Bet I get loads now
Mystery solved. The other company I contacted reminded me I signed up for a heat person not home scheme. They would send some items for free. I totally forgot as over 2 months ago and no indication of when and where they were coming from. Panic over.
Iv never heard of the name brushing. its awful how many scams there are but ill defo keep an eye out for news on this one. thanks.
This is interesting. I frequent order things from Amazon. Hopefully that does not happen on me.
It’s ok mine was not a scam after all but it could have been as I have heard of it happening.
