More School Funding for Sports?

Ask a Question

Should state schools receive more funding for sports?

With over a third of Team GB athletes being privately educated—up from about a quarter—could additional resources help level the playing field?

There are certain sports that could easily be implemented without too much expense but there are others that would need specialist equipment or gyms to be built. It is unlikely those sports would get funding as they would be too expensive.

Yes. School isn't just sitting down behind a desk. Kids learn in all sorts of ways. Actually sports is great for kids that struggle in class it can give them and the rest of the class a break if there's more funding for sports especially if the extra funding goes on 1:1 sessions. We have had it some schools I work in it's been brilliant as those that find it hard to be class go which gives the rest a break and can do some learning. They work on self esteem which flows into class. Education as a whole needs funding properly and revamping. It's a system fit for the victorian era and cuts made to Education and things like youth work kids today are in a mess

If school get more funding it should be spent on education and staffing. If the kids want sport then there plenty of clubs the parents could take them to.
