Scientists Have Created Synthetic Embryos without Using an Egg or Sperm

In the News

I was astounded when i read this article , it is beyond the realms of the imagination

This is far more advanced than test tube babies

The article mentions scientists in California in the USA discussing this so i take that is where the studies are

The UK would not be involved in this as they class it as unethical being not part of current legislation

They do say will only use them for studies into miscarriages etc but i can see uproar in the States over this

If they did go a stage further and humanised the embryos what would they grow up to look like ?

With no egg or fertilisation to give it an identity it would have no human traits !

Leannexxx I tend to agree L, although they would not be fully developed human embryos as such, they could go further and develop them , it would be like a frankenstein birth, who knows what they would grow up to look and act like

Leannexxx well said, as if there aren't enough people in the world already that we have to artificially create more! Kids deserve a normal upbringing in the way nature intended, they can make lifestyle choices when old enough to understand. Children see, children do and those raised in alternative lifestyles will grow up believing them to be normal rather than the exception.

Lynibis I'm one of them live your life as you want to that's nothing to do with me but when there doing on this it's so wrong this is so unnatural they wanna take the uterus from a trans man and donate to a trans woman and by the way it will have to be removed after because sorry to say it's a man's body and no one really knows what could happen to the baby health growth issues and no I'm not transphobic but this is to far

MelissaLee1 I know M, you can only imagine what might happen with AI for instance, robots giving birth perhaps ?

They already look human , if they find a way to put internal organs in them they could reproduce using these new embryos

They already can grow certain human organs in the lab

It's one thing to cure diseases but this seems far more like frankenstein. Considering the environmental issues we face surely we should be focused on saving the planet not creating more humans.

telmel the rate we're going there will be no planet for any human or species. I don't get the point in creating all this new science, when it will mean nothing as no one will exists to use it.
