Scientists Rebuild the Face of 400-Year-Old Polish 'Vampire'

In the News

This story sent chills down my spine, should scientists be messing with vampire legends knowing what we know ?

They have reconstructed the face of this supposed vampire Zosia after finding in Poland, buried and restrained with an iron sickle and padlock on her foot

It is strange she also is thought to have come from a noble family , similar to the infamous count Dracula

I wonder if money was at stake here, if you will excuse the pun, maybe she was accused of being a vampire to claim her wealth , who knows

I would keep my distance if i was them , with halloween she might rise to the occasion

I am not sure why they bother to be honest. I love history but it must be a waste of money. On youtube I notice there are now old photos/portraits from the past that are being restored with AI into moving and speaking people, I find that very interesting.

Lynibis I absolutely love this kind of research L, to see the original face of someone that has passed away hundreds or thousands of years ago

They did a reconstruction of one of the pharaohs, Ramesses II , fascinating

Let's hope they don't discover Vlad the impaler lol we'd be in trouble then, at least we know he actually existed

martinlufc5637 gosh he was a really nasty b*****d, I knew about him but recently saw a documentary too. The things he did aside from impaling were truly horrific.

Yeah it probably was due to money. Normally is. Witches we're burned at the stake mainly cos of jealousy rather actual witchery. Witches is a word meaning wise woman. I love stuff like this it's fascinating

Jerseydrew A lot of things like this were probably because of jealous neighbours or relations trying to get their hands on others property or belongings by denouncing them

I think the same applied to the Spanish inquisition

telmel exactly jealousy and greedy relatives are often the root cause of things

The "mad scientist" is at it again. Claiming to resurrect the dead. I am wondering how much money was given for this project. Good publicity for all those involved in doing this.

I don't think they actually want to bring her back to life J , i think its metaphorical, i think they mean bringing how she looked back to life, to be honest she looks a bit like Uma Thurman 😉

A modern vampire would probably just get a job as a phlebotomist and/or work in a blood bank.Easier by far. This fella definitely needs to get some iron in his system Image
