Do You Still Send Greetings Cards?

I haven't sent or received any greeting cards for seven years

Yes ,we have a fantastic card shop 5 minutes from where I live,Lolly1967 you grew up nearby so know the one I mean..

I love getting cards & sending them to family & friends..

Here's some of my birthday cards from my May birthday..

My late nephew would have turned 37 on July 4th,his younger cousin turned 15 the same day..

My oldest sister gave birth to the oldest nephew on my side of the family July 4th 1986..

My youngest sister gave birth to the youngest nephew on my side of the family on July 4th 2008!

Always sent cards to both,they loved to receive cards too..

Yes I send cards although my children don’t. It’s obviously a generational thing.

We send them to traditional people but for each other we get scratchcards - more fun and less expensive and you could win something

Only to my closest family members. I used to send to friends but now I prefer to buy a small token gift which doesn't end up in the bin (or hopefully the recycling)

Yes only on festival days it was a thing back in 19th century when people were use to send cards to their loved ones on special occasions but now its all taken by social media & it doesn't have that much attention & belongings

I've always sent cards for every occasion and always will..I think it's a shame that its becoming a thing of the past! I'm not on Facebook but it seems posting a message instead of sending a card is good enough! Not for me..

My wife makes hand made cards to order. She incorporates photos provided by the person who wants the card, usually of the family member or friend for whom the card is for. A personal verse can be inserted which includes the name of the recipient. She also makes cards with no verses for different occasions and gives them in bundles of 10 to friends and family at no cost.

I send Birthday & Christmas cards to family and close friends and I still receive cards. It's nice on your birthday to get them through the post a Happy Birthday on Facebook isn't the same.

At Christmas and for things like special anniversaries. Otherwise it's electronic messages in this super quick life we lead. I'll be sending my Bot Drone around with flowers in the next decade or so.

I also send birthday, Easter & Christmas cards to the family and I love to receive them.

I still send cards, especially to friends who live alone. I think it is another way of keeping in touch, in addition to speaking with them by telephone. Elderly friends don't always use the internet and appreciate a card.

Only to family members and a few close friends. I don't spend a lot of money on greetings cards and only send about 5 a year.

I used to send birthday cards to all of my family then I realised I wasn't getting one back from some now I only send to those that send to me. I used to buy birthday and Christmas cards and presents for my neices children then after a fair few years of not even receiving a card at Christmas or birthdays I stopped and frankly it's far less effort it's great.

I think they’re a waste of money personally cause they just go in the bin, it’s also bad for the environment.

However if i know someone does like to receive them i will make an effort

I love getting cards in the post .It's so much more personal.I always send Thank you notes for presents recieved as well.

I send cards to a few family and friends but not as many as I used to. I just can't afford the postage especially when the stamp costs more than the card.

Yes - getting a card through the letterbox is very personal and ,just, nice

Yes to both family and friends. Christmas time I make them for family, as it’s become a tradition amongst us.

A card shop is only 5 minutes away from my home and I buy various cards - anniversaries, birthdays, sympathy and people is always saying the words in the cards means so much to them.

I guess I'm a bit old fashioned as I still like to get items in the post. It was always good to receive a letter, but these days it seems to have been replaced by any number of electronic messaging.

I send and receive cards to/from family for birthdays and Christmas but that's it. Just two exceptions is Get Well Soon and Thinking of You cards.

I do for the kids, my partner and my mum but I dont bother with any one else. My nan makes homemade cards from old ones so the few we do buy all get reused after.

I received one this week, first one Ive had or sent for ages. Was nice to get an actual Thank you card rather than an email

I made all the cards that I have sent for over 50 years, but now because of the cost of postage, I only actually send to close relatives and close friends. I still enjoy making cards and would love to sell a few or just donate them to a local church as I have done before.

Yes I always send cards. Didn't realise other people don't. Seems odd that you wouldn't unless of course you really can't afford to. I send cards for mother's day, birthdays, Easter and Christmas. I even sometimes make them especially for my mum.

I always send a card so do my kids when they go to a party . Don't send every one a card tho . Some people I've fallen out of you h with get a text.

Yes, I do as I love to send things by post and also like to receive them too. Older members of the family aren't tech savvy (and I am also a quite a technophobe) so lengthy communication wouldn't be possible without the post as my letters also contain amusing images of what I have been getting up to - even though it is expensive!

I have cut down on cards mainly because the children I used to send them too don’t see me anymore, so I thought what’s the point.

I love sending cards. I started last year making my own Christmas cards. This year's are all made along with a homemade decoration

Yes - birthdays, anniversaries, sympathy cards, thank you cards for birthday & Christmas gifts, weddings but I don't do Easter or New Year ones. I put a lot of thought into my cards and have a box full of spare cards for most occasions

Physical cards adds memories but online erases everything. So make memories by sending the cards

I give a card to my wife and that’s it. If anyone else wants a card off me then unlucky, unless my wife buys it, writes it out and sends it. You can say the same things over messenger or what’s app as you can say on a card and it’s also cheaper.

I think it's very sad that the days of letter writing are all but over. I remember learning how to lay out a letter at primary school. I believe that children of today are missing out and before you know it no-one, except the gentry, will know how to write at all as we all use keyboards these days.
