Do You Shop Online or Instore for Clothes?
Ask a Question
Do you prefer shopping for clothes online or in store?
I like to get mine online so I can try them on at home and it's easy to send anything back that isn't right.
I get mine in either charity shops or supermarkets. I like to see the item shape and material in reality. It’s so sad there are not many clothes shops any more.
JLouM I only have one clothes shop in my local shopping centre now, which is New Look and not my taste. Otherwise it's grabbing clothes from the local Asda.
I much prefer to get them in a shop. You really can't tell the thickness or quality of the material of the garment on the internet and I am often disappointed when I try and buy online instead.
tumblespots How about looking at reviews on a clothing website before buying? Do you find that helpful?
SamGoodship I do find that most people tend to give positive reviews despite their reservations about the product - perhaps they had a freebie and don't want to give a bad review??
Due to mobility issues I do my shopping online, with the added bonus that I normally go via a cashback site and also check to see if there are any discount codes.
Plus as a plus sized women there is more choice online.
I prefer to do my clothes shopping in store as i'm a bit fussy about fit etc, but quite happy to buy from supermarkets. Clothes that I have bought online always tend to go back due to not fitting properly or just that they look completely differnt to the pictures.
I think in person is far better cause pictures don’t always show what the item will look like, you can try it on and even if you want to return it you can just take it back to the store.
Clothes are cheaper online though
jms19 I got into a habit of buying them online now as changing rooms were closed for years due to covid.
As a full time unpaid carer, I've hardly any time to go clothes shopping, so it's more convenient for me to buy online.
I've ordered many times online for clothes. But I prefer to buy instore for the right fit. But it's usually cheaper online.
I like to buy in store as I like to try the clothes on. Like tumblespots mentioned, you need to know the quality and how it looks in the store fitting room under the bright lights. The same system for shoes as they are made in different countries and can be tight even when they say its your size.
I pretty much get all of my clothes secondhand from charity shops if I can. The only recent exceptions have been work trousers which I purchased in a shop - Asdas as I needed them urgently due to a splitting situation! Much prefer buying secondhand although the choice for mens clothes can be limited. For every ten racks of women's clothes there will be one rack for men.
didbygraham Hey, thank you for your helpful comment. We've emailed you a £1 Costa coupon to say thanks! It has gone to the email address on your Latest Deals account.
I order online mainly as it’s more convenient but I did buy a new top from M&S in store this week, I’ve not tried it on yet though.
I prefer shopping in store. For me it is easier to actually see the different sizes and try on in store. I know it can be a pain, getting changed but if I order online I struggle with size and have had to purchase two different sizes in the past then I have to return at least one. Returning items is a pain as well.
We always shop in store because 9 times out of 10 they never fit me everything is always to short on me
I do both. I buy most of my stuff from supermarkets, Pep&co and occasionally places like New Look and Primark. I look in charity stores too but never find anything.
Never buy clothes online unless a repeat of something I have bought in store and know it is right for me.
I prefer online as I can compare different stores and can use cashback sites. I can checkout at my own convenience. But I do make sure that the shop has free returns
Both, I love my local cancer research. Everything in under £5, i then go to asda afterwards. I’m a big charity shopper, second hand can be better sometimes
I much prefer to try on it shops . You get to know what type of fabric . If I buy on line on I offen send back . So go in store these days
Without any major clothing retailers in my town online shopping makes sense as any Inflated pricing is offset by the savings on travel costs. Most orders are free delivery and returns and upon can order multiple sizes and colours for choice. With sales almost by the day online you also save on shoe leather tramping from one chain store to another. Unfortunately a sign of the times but consumers drive the economy and this one drives from his armchair
I am a fully paralysed middle aged lady. I saw on This Morning the end of last year a card I could obtain to help save money on online shopping. I emailed the program, with no response back on numerous occassions. Can anyone help me with the name of this card please.
