Too Soon For Christmas?

In the News

Just seen on gmb there's stuff in shops for Xmas. Is it too soon? Personally yes. I'm up for Xmas shopping but not wanting to get it to be all Xmas Dec's in August

I do not buy anything for Christmas anyone. Instead I spend the money on a holiday for myself in the run up to Christmas so I miss it all. Works for me.

Jerseydrew Have been doing this for a few years now as all my children are adults now. It took them a while to understand no presents either way.

Really?! Already?!! Lmao 😜 that’s too soon indeed!! Haha 😆 I’d say get them in the shops end of October! I do know that Hobbycraft stocks xmas 🎄 items as soon as it’s September!! Lol 😝 I go there to use my £5 birthday 🎉 voucher and sometimes get some decorations 😬

Shops always do this. Their seasons are way in advance for their products. As far as I’m concerned it’s still summer and I’m looking for the reduced clearance stuff for the rest of it. I don’t buy Autumn stuff and Christmas can wait. I don’t like to tempt fate by buying gifts when say someone’s health might be in question.

It drives me mad 😠 it's so commercial. So many people have totally lost the reason for Christmas!

Won't be long before holidays for next summer are advertised and as soon as Christmas is over the Easter Eggs will appear.

I was out shopping with my grandchildren yesterday and my 7yr old grandson was so excited to see Christmas items being put on the shelf. It’s far too early I think and takes away some of the excitement.

I rarely buy Christmas presents before December. In fact I’m more of a last minute shopper other than food, non perishable bits.

I am a get ahead fan of Christmas in the shops early but I don't have children to explain the big big gap until the big day luckily.

Auntielettie see that's another issue with small kids making them wait months is hard. Bad enough between mid October onwards but now to December is hell

It doesn't bother me. I buy for Christmas all year round, as do a lot of people. Some people might be able to afford to buy Christmas items in August but not in December so if it helps people afford Christmas then I don't have a problem with it.

I definitely don't want to think about Christmas yet. If I did see a great deal maybe but I still have two birthdays this year

I buy throughout the year. Just stocking fillers but it makes a big difference in spreading the cost

Im happy with stuff being here early because I am the type that buys all year round so really doesnt bother me. I only get upset when they skip halloween stuff because thats my absolute favourite holiday!

I start buying in the january sales then throughout the sales during the year,it cost's half the price then and there's no rushing around come december and not having to find lots of money 🎅

Its never too soon. If I spot a bargain of something I intend to buy for Christmas then I am happy to buy it now. Those that dont like to see Christmas things in the shops yet - can always just ignore them

I buy Christmas presents throughout the year when on sale, If you have a space to put Christmas presents or decor away then why delay it, you snooze you loose.

I don't really do anything for Christmas anymore. To me, it's a seasonal/religious holiday (I'm not religious), heavily marketed by retailers to get you to spend 🤑. As I get older, I'm gradually stopping everything related to it except family time 👍

I suppose with the way the weather has been people may think it’s winter already, but i agree it’s way too soon for Christmas stuff!

I saw chocolate coins and Santas in Asda in those netting bags, surely they would be out of date by then.. probably last years stock..😂

Every year same conversation. When do I start planning for Christmas basically on Boxing day.

If you plan your Christmas all year round then 1 of the best parts will be you'll never be skint in January.
