How Much Did You Spend on an Engagement Ring?

Ask a Question

After reading that the average engagement ring costs between £1,865 and £2,100, I got curious.... So how much did you spend on a ring? 💍

I told my fiancé not to spend a lot on my ring as I’m not materialistic. I think he spent around £300 and even that amount seems a lot for a piece of jewellery. I don’t want a big wedding either. I’d rather spend the money on a honeymoon.

My last one was the grand total of £28. And I was perfectly happy about it. I picked it.

Actually not that much. About £200 I think. It was more about what I liked and wanted to wear than the price. I still love it 25 years later.

£400. My original engagement ring and wedding ring no longer fitted after I had my son, so I bought a CZ engagement and wedding ring. Cost £36 for the 2 of them. I get lots of compliments on them.

My wife's engaged ring was £5000, I bought it in 1991, she doesn't wear it though due to the massive rise in crime, she's scared to go out with it on, sad really, shows how messed up this country is

Never occurred to me how much was spent on my engagement rings (oops). Its just that I loved the style and never turned my finger green. As I didn’t want to detract from my engagement ring- my wedding ring cost me £9.99 from Argos - might cost a little more now as that was in 1992.
