Spin to Win Cheating
Other
I have been entering this from its inception (on and off) and whilst i have never really expected to win there's always that little seed of hope.
However when a comp is shown on air and there are rules to follow, it is a bit off when they break the rules for a caller.
Today they answered the phone and the woman said hello instead of immediately saying the catch phrase, they let her get away with it, which is a bit of a kick in the teeth for all those waiting phone in hand with the phrase at the ready.
This isn't the first time either. They have done it before and even nudged the wheel to a bigger amount.
Probably another thing i am going to give up.
Well that is incredibly unfair on all those others. I never enter that one but I have been trying to get through on a radio one and then you hear the person selected has been chosen multiple times! Mind you I don’t know how much they pay for entry each time. I only try once a day as luck is luck. I don’t have money to waste.
The point is to be lucky enough to be rung and the phrase is just a fun point so they know that you are listening to the radio as the point of the comp is to generate revenue from calls and then to get listeners for advertisers. If they dont immediately answer with the phrase its no deal breaker for me personally.
PaxAmerica spin to win is free to enter every day and it is on tv. The phrase is compulsory, they are constantly saying you must say the phrase and nothing else or they hang up.....which they do, but not this morning.
Lynibis I enter most days too L but have never had a call from them, well not as far as i know
I look for missed unknown calls on my mobile sometimes and if i see one wonder if it was them
I am not 100% certain but i believe you will not be entered again for at least 6 months if you miss the call as it is counted as you had been
Its like the free postcode lottery , i have been doing it for years but never won anything
I did win £1,500 once on a free radio competition , i didn't even have to say a phrase

My Brother & Sister in law's story made all the newspapers including the Sheffield Star ,News Of The World even the Scottish Record,my old mate is Scottish, saved me the article from her copy,I kept all the clippings & photos of my Niece..
After she was born my Brother & Sister in law were invited back to Hallam FM to show everyone their baby girl..
11 days ago I wrote about my Prize & added the Sci Fi cups I won as part of it but somehow only the cups were shown so I thought you all might like to know where I got them...
One September when our daughter was a child I rang our local radio station Hallam FM to ask for a Birthday Request for her birthday.
The DJ asked if I wanted to enter their competition the were running in conjunction with the Sci Fi Channel so I said yes as I had heard it the day before, he told me that it was a bit different from that one.
I entered & won a trip for 2 people around the Sci Fi Channel, 2 Nights in The Langham Hilton Hotel on Park Lane in London & £100 Spending Money.
I took my partner & we had to pay our own train fare down but got it back .
The Langham Hilton Hotel's interior was designed by Harrods, the food was beautiful too..
We met other Regional Winners at The Sci Fi Channel, had a look around & were each given a Sci Fi Cup & T.Shirt.
We were allowed to do the Voice Overs for the programmes but I didn't want to, my partner did & so for months after on The Sci Fi Channel my partner voice introduced the Drama Medical Investigations!
We had a lovely weekend in London while family looked after our little girl and she was treated to some Special Lego where you have a small bag & fill it up with the bits you want, her Da & I filled it up with Doors,Wheels Windows & other bits, she also got a doll in an Ireland costume & one in a Spanish costume.
I have entered since year dot too, it use to wind me up when Holly & Phil kept talking when a lucky contestant picked up, l no longer watch or enter now....
Pinkspirit that really gets my goat, the presenters now do it too. It's as if they mustn't leave a moment of silence, just the music is bad enough. They act really surprised when someone answers and often they can't make our what the viewer says.
I always miss calls cos I don't sit on or by my phone for which reason I seldom do phone comps.I do think if there's a rule then it should apply to everybody though.
MelissaLee1 I only do this one as it's free. I usually watch this morning (retirement has made me lazy) so my phone is usually at hand.
I know what you’re saying but I don’t mind a bit of rule breaking like that. I know it’s not strictly fair but I wouldn’t mind
...
These are our cups won when our local Radio Station Hallam FM ran a competition in conjunction with The Sci Fi Channel, see my story above..
