Sport - does anyone else not like it?

Other

I wonder if I am the only person in the world that has absolutely no interest whatsoever in most sport. A little bit of tennis or golf maybe but just a little. TV seems to be dominated by it. I find it so boring. Even changing channel doesn’t seem to make much difference. Just me?

No it isn't just you, I can't stand it either. There have been times when 4 of the 1 to 5 channels are covering sport and the other one has some mind numbing reality, news or other dire offering. There is not enough good drama these days it's all cheap tv with expensive costs to the consumer.

There are times of the year where i agree the tv schedule does seem to be dominated by sport. But there are also times where it’s dominated by soaps etc.

jms19 I don’t watch soaps either! I used to but they got so depressing. I watch consumer programs and travel programmes. Some documentaries and a few sitcoms or quiz shows. I like to keep up with the headlines of news just not the sport.

I love watching darts, football and F1. Hate tennis, golf and snooker. I get into trouble with my hubby while I do a running commentary while he's watching football 😆

I’m not a lover of watching sport. I used to appreciate people supporting their local team but now no one comes from that area or even this country.

I can't stand sport, playing it or watching it. We don't have tv anymore partly due to the complete over-coverage of sport and partly due to the lack of decent programs (soaps and spots are the bane of our lives) and the adverts. What we do have is a vast collection of DVDs so we watch films on a daily basis and ergo enjoy everything we watch with no adverts either 😉

I love F1 and enjoy most football but I haven't watched any of the women's world Cup. I have found there are times when there is loads of sports on TV but I just put something else on.

You have found your twin.I appreciate that it brings people together with a common goal but it bores the pants of me.I used to play badminton and tennis quite a lot when I was younger and thinner but I didn't ever feel the need to watch others.

I'm not particularly bothered about it. I think the coverage is very excessive on the main channels considering how many are available these days.

Not as bad as it used to be in the seventies when it seemed to be wall to wall football several times a week! (well, either that or Terry Wogan! )

I watch a little bit of sport here and there but understand if its popular with a large slice of the audience then fair enough. Often itv has horse racing on in an afternoon and I wonder how many people actually watch that. Seems one of the most boring sports to me. I can't believe people spend thousands on season tickets just to watch people going up and down a field kicking a small amount of leather.

It's a bit like anything though if your not interested then its going to be boring and pointless. You could say Star Trek is just a bunch of people standing in a room pretending to be in space but Trekkies practically worship the series.

Most sport seems amazing compared to trains spotting or fishing to me. I'd rather watch sport than any soap but personally I prefer other things like science fiction movies and series and videogames.

I like Boxing but all the good ones are retired now. All the ones nowadays only some seem to hug. They must think Its some kind of dating game. I also like to watch from time to time the Winter Olympics. Nothing more.
