What Stereotypes Do Brits Have about Each Other

Ask a Question

What do you all fellow Brits + Irish members think of about each other's city/ do you like their accent?

People from that part of the UK or Ireland can feel free to agree or disagree with the views 🤣

Typically when I think of Scottish I think haggis, kilts, rugby lovers, definitely Irn-bru, shortbread biscuits. I imagine both the men and women to have brown hair and not blonde idk why 🤣 lovely accent

Irish and N.Irish - less leprechauns but more potato lovers lol .. they say apparently the Irish drink alot. Some Travelers and troubled youth. Based on some of the conversations from Irish strangers i get the notion that *a few* of the Irish don't like the English.

Funny comedic people who can help and stick up for you at any time. Lots of red head lol.

Welsh people - Welsh seem very friendly, angelic choir singers and good looking people.. hmm perhaps introverted .. I imagine they're patriotic too. Hair colour sort of blonde-mousey brown

Geordie people seem super friendly and cool, like it's always a good day for them 😍 Londoners seem both modern and traditional at the same time and like they have a posh side and a rough side, Mancunians well integrated but a bit serious though although I heard their night life is wild

All of us: moan about the weather lol

I have always been drawn to the males of Scotland, Ireland and Wales. The accents are lovely although in some parts of Ireland and Scotland it can be a bit harsher, not so soft and lilting.

I associate redheads with Scotland more so than Ireland and agree that the Welsh have beautiful singing voices. I love the history of all our British Isles but am ashamed of the way the English treated the others. Having said that I am not one of those people who hold current generations to account for the deeds of our ancestors, history cannot be changed (nor should it be) but we can learn from it if we choose.

I know that generally the rest of England think londoners are miserable…they’re not wrong lol. My very first manager was from up north and always loved going back home on the train as there were plenty of people to talk to. However, on the train back she is often met with the cold shoulder

hspexy if I was a Londoner I would be miserable too. I can't think of anything worse than struggling to survive in an overcrowded, expensive capital city where everyone cares only for themselves and has no time to smile or chat to others, knife crime is rampant, crime in general is sky high, travel is difficult but having a car costs an arm and a leg with all the charges now.

I like the Welsh people because to me they are super friendly and definitely more laid back than the rest of the Country. Not only do I love their accents I love the Country as well.

We do all love a good moan and i think that’s a good thing, it’s a bonding experience and as long as it’s not too excessive it’s fine.

Being from the midlands i think the perception from others is we’re a bit stupid due to the accent

My partner is Northern Irish & during a twitter debate between Sheffield Wednesday fans & Barnsley fans he was called a POTATO PICKING TERRORIST by this Barnsley fan after the eeeeeejit spotted my partner's Northern Ireland Football Shirt on his profile !!

My partner closed his Twitter Account after that TWIT said that...

My partner eats, drinks & sleeps Football, a proud Wednesday fan proud of his local football team, proud of his home team Portadown & proud of his Northern Irish roots..

He has a few drinks but doesn't drink to excess & neither do I...

He's mild mannered & gets on with everyone usually..
