Would You Stick to Diet of Losing Weight if You Were Paid?
Ask a Question
If you were paid for every pound you lost, do you think it would give you more incentive to stick to it? Or should you lose weight because you want too?
Don't think you should get paid to get healthy it's down to the person who wants to lose weight to do it for themselves
Im not sure I would, I think I've tried every diet under the sun and never stick to them.. I think losing weight just isnt for me but if someone wants to pay me to try again I wont say no!
HannahSunderlan Which ways have you tried to lose weight? I saw a programme once and as we are all different, different diets work for different people.
I've had body dysmorphia all my life, I'm not fat, I'm just carrying a few extra pounds but l always saw fat myself and thought l was huge, in my twenties l had a great boyfriend who would encourage me to lose weight by giving me incentives to lose weight, perfume, jewellery, money, clothes...it was a win win for me, l lost the weight, and Yes it made me very happy and confident and the gifts were great too. I don't seem to be able to lose even a pound nowadays even if money was on offer it just will not budge
Weight loss is a personal journey. I don’t think money should be involved. People need to be self motivated rather than being incentivised for everything and anything
Yes i definitely would. I have lost a significant amount of weight in the past without being paid but i definitely think it would be easier to do if i was earning from it
jms19 Well done you for losing weight in the past. I find it weird when your not trying to lose weight food isn’t really on your mind but as soon as you decide to lose weight you can’t stop thinking about it.
BonzoBanana That’s what I think. After having four children I am always trying to lose that ‘empty baby sack’. Unfortunately because one of my babies was 9lb 8oz he tore all my stomach muscles.
That and a free hamper lol.Seriously though it might help.Cos I would be a a fair bit richer then.
MelissaLee1 I just think it would be nice to drop some pounds and earn some pounds. Depending on the reward I think it would motivate me more.
eyeballkerry I can get motivated but find it hard to maintain so the promise of a few quid would definitely help me.
it helps! But the biggest motivation for my weight loss has been my health. I had to loose weight. Loosing it slowly as it helps me keep the lower weight- when I have had big drops in short time - I just end up putting it back on again.
I've lost 3 stone and still trying to lose the last 7 pounds. My husband is also trying to lose weight. For both of us it is about our health. Yes getting some money for losing weight would be nice but shouldn't be the main motivating factor.
MrsCraig Congratulations on losing that amount. Have you got any tips? I do walk a lot, do Zumba and have an exercise bike. My diet is pretty healthy but just can’t budge the empty baby sack as I have muscles there.
eyeballkerry thanks. I just ate less and exercised more. I made sure that I was moving more in general and ate less at each meal and cut out snacks unless it was fruit or veg. I still have a pouch as I call it from my c section and finding it hard to get rid of.
I have been an unsuccessful dieter most of my adult life ! I’ve lost a few pounds then gained a few then lost a few and the yo-yo continued !
I don’t think anything would motivate me to be a successful dieter !
I can’t stick to diets. It’s difficult when you’re cooking for your family. My sister in law would be a millionaire if she was paid for every pound, she’s a yo-yo er.
