How to Stick on a Ring Doorbell without Screwing It into Door
Ask a Question
Just ordered a ring doorbell and we have a UPVC door and frame. Can anyone recommend anything that will stick on the door. We don’t want to put holes into the UPVC. Many thanks
have you got your doorbell yet? Only because I asked my friend and she said she got a door mount with her's
Any double sided tape will work (maybe those "Command " picture hanging tapes ).
I always worried about having an expensive piece of kit on the front door saying "nick me please" but they have come down so much in price I doubt anyone would bother these days ? If they wanted to steal it they could prise it off in a second however securely it was screwed in ?
Golfforall Thank you . I,m not sure how it works but I am sure it might be useless wi the other bit.
julie781x The bell is tucked around the side a little not actually on the door but still sunny loads.
Can you not attach it to the wall next to your door, it doesn't need much drilling into the brick work.
You'll need a mount as you take it off to charge it, if it is a wireless one.
DeBunny leaving as is could be simply ripped off by a thief
A wall mount would avoid that. £20 in the U.K., £13 via Aliexpress.
PhilipMarc A wall mount deterring a thief ? Think it through! Could just prise it off with a screwdriver or knife . Perhaps read my earlier comment .
PhilipMarc I know you'll need a mount, did you mean to tag me, as you are agreeing with me?
People can steal them anyway though, you just unscrew them with a generic mini screwdriver for them. Or I'd imagine they could come off with their mount with enough quick force, as they aren't drilled in very deeply.
You are covered by Ring if they get stolen (once per purchase) and you ordered it from them directly.
TBH so easy to steal , but the actual buttons these days are £20 ? Is it worth it to a thief ? If you attach it too well it can still be unscrewed or more probably prised off . Doing far more than £20 damage to your door ? Might just as well let a thief take it (if they are so inclined ) less hassle all round .
If you live in an area where thieves steal £20 Ring buttons , just go in the local Pub you could probably buy one for a fiver , perhaps your own ?
Yes a cheap functioning bell if stolen (er none so queer is folk)is fast replaceable so not worth drilling holes and fixing brackets..bit of old chewing gum might do the trick lol.I've always fancied a bell on a rope.I have a Beware of the Duck Sign as well but then I probably need tablets lol.
Update
Doorbell arrived and managed to fit it on the brick wall. Just need to wait until the cameras for around the house are on sale.
Thank you all
