Is Studio Closing Down??

Ask a Question

I keep getting emails from studio about a 90% off sale. It says the warehouse is closing. Does that mean they are closing??

I doubt very much if Studio is closing, it's just another marketing ploy.

There used to be a shoe shop in the town that used to have closing down sales on for months saying that the shop was having a refurb. They closed down for the weekend every so often and then reopen on the Monday with.prices exactly the. The refurb was probably them changing a light bulb. The shop did it for years before being stopped

TheChimp Was it shoe zone by any chance, my local one does that every six months claims it's lease renewal. But then lots of things just disappear without warning!

TheChimp it’s so annoying that they do this. I’m getting an email about this every single day.

lilyflower they sell on eBay l I got caught out and brought a pair of trainers and was sealed in a bag but dirty and I got money back but I had to mess about going via their website and made sure I got my postage back . I take no prisoners anymore I don’t think that the user name was even shoe zone or I wouldn’t of ordered

Hope not. Like studio. They are really good but there's lots of competition out there

Studio was taken over by Mike Ashley's Frasier group when they went into administration some time ago. I'm guessing they are sharing resources now and probably don't need as many warehouses so one is closing. My mother recently bought a dual tray air fryer from Studio for £45 plus £5 postage and have to say its brilliant for the money. Easy to use, well built and very nice looking modern unit. A real bargain. She is very pleased with it.

BonzoBanana ah yes. I didn’t think of this. Wow, that’s a brilliant price for an air fryer. They have loads of towels and bedding on sale for only 99p, well they did last night anyway

I'm not sure if it's closing or not. But I know they have closed a few studio warehouses to cut down costs

The only trouble with streamlining their business like this is you get the same stock and prices at all the Sports Direct companies. Anyway I placed an order around £50 and very pleased with what I got for that money, some real bargains. I noticed many of the items still had the price tags from when they were sold instore and those price tags are huge compared to what I paid. I'm guessing my parcel was despatched from the same warehouse many other Mike Ashley brands use because many of the items had Sport's Direct price tags. I don't think my order came from a Studio warehouse that is closing even if they are closing a warehouse.

Studio has been going down the pan for years. I wouldn't give them a single penny of my money these days, in case they finally die and I lose out

Totally agree - no customer services at all - can’t speak to a person, everything has to be done by email and it takes two weeks to get back to you - that’s if they even answer you. It’s gone down the pan and is now in the u bend. I’ve been with them for 20 odd years and will never buy another thing from them again. I’ve kept £100 worth of goods that I don’t want rather than send them back because there is no way to check if they receive them and no way to contact them to chase your returns apart from email and if they decide not to answer then you‘ve sent stuff back with no refund or many many hours of trying to find out what’s happened. Thought I’d be better to keep the stuff and put it on EBay than risk sending it back and losing the £100 with nothing. Totally untrustworthy company - not like they used to be. Utter greed and no concern for the customer that pays their slippery wages. Phew - I feel better!!!!

When Frasier group bought Chain Reaction all they really bought was the name and some existing stock. The original creditors to Chain Reaction/Wiggle probably got next to nothing and pretty much everyone was sacked etc. I suspect Studio will end up being just another brand of the Frasier group. Knowing how good Frasier group return's process is definitely not a good brand for serial returners but then the £5 postage is meant to discourage returns.

BonzoBanana the £5 postage is a huge deterrent. Another thing that annoys me is when you order a load of stuff, and most of your order is cancelled - yet they still charge £5 for the delivery.
