Do You Subscribe to a Pet Plan??

Ask a Question

We have two cats, so it can be expensive enough taking them to the vets for their health checks and injections.

Last time we were in, we found out we could get them onto a monthly paid pet plan which covers their injections and health checks, as well as other perks.

I worked out that by doing this well save £120 a year! I’m delighted!

Do you know about the pet plan? Have you subscribed to it??

Every vet does a montly care plan. Our dog used to be on the monthly care plan, our vets called it a health plan. I thought you were talking about the insurance company at first, we were with them too.

PayItForward we always had it for our dog. As soon as I took her for her first appointment we signed her up.

MrsCraig that’s brilliant. I wish I’d known about it before as we would have saved a small fortune

smileysands I agree. And you get money off prescriptions which is great. My oldest boy needs monthly meds, so we save money on them

I think many of these pet plans or pet insurance are at a flat rate but pedigree dogs and cats tend to have more health problems so depending on the terms and conditions and how they reduce the price someone with a Heinz 57 moggy or dog can end up subsidising the veterinary bills of pedigree animals which is annoying. It would be like someone with a Dacia paying the same warranty cost as someone with a Rolls Royce which personally I don't think is fair.

BonzoBanana i didnt realise this. Our two aren’t special breeds, but one is 17. He’s deaf, has arthritis, and dementia - but other than those issues, he’s very fit.

PayItForward 17 is a great age for a dog or cat. I watched a video on youtube of a very elderly feral cat I think which in old age had been adopted and had a bed to lie on for the very first time made me cry a bit just to see an animal in old age get kindness. Always love to hear of dogs or cats that get a nice long lifespan. My mother had a cat called Casper that lasted to about 26 years and seemed to enjoy all of his years, his food, sleeping and trying to get birds which he was useless at as he was a bright white colour and you could see him a mile off. He was about while in my early 20s well into my later adult life.
