Swimwear Piece Pricing.
Other
It’s a long time since I have been swimming and probably need new swimwear if I get the opportunity. However I have just been browsing some fashion pages and I think it’s such a cheek to sell bikini/Tankini pieces separately at high prices. Obviously you need both pieces. I just think it should be sold as one outfit. Same with workwear suits really. I think it makes them really expensive. What do you think and where do you buy yours from?
I think reason they started selling them separately was some people are 2 different sizes on top and bottom and customers were swapping pieces over to what fitted them rather than buying two sets to get their sizes. I don’t have lot of swimwear cos I rarely get chance to wear it but last couple times I did buy I bought of Amazon, they’ve some great prices and lovely items. Another idea is wait till end of summer when they’re selling off summer stock and buy then
If they did start selling them as one set I for one would not be buying them. I am a traditional Pear shape so I always buy a large size item for my lower half and one size smaller for the top.
EmmaWright762 Yes that makes sense to me now. I still think the individual pieces are pricey though. Should be equivalent one piece price if it was a matching suit despite the sizes.
I understand it is pricey but as others have said, different size top and bottoms. Not sure what you're after but I personally always use debenhams or M&S for swimwear, cant go wrong!
It’s to accommodate the fact you may wear different sizes - and also, some may just want to replace the bottoms only, or vice versa (I lost a top once, so would’ve been handy if the set was sold separately)
I understand where you’re coming from concerning the price. I did purchase a tankini complete online, all one size but unfortunately I needed different sizes for each bit.
eyeballkerry Yes I understand this for some people. Other people don’t need different sizes though and have to pay for individual pieces, even if they match. It gets quite pricey for a ‘suit’ where it is really one outfit.
JLouM I suppose with a tankini, especially in my case you are using more material. I got my first one years ago from Bon Prix and lasted a very long time.
I always needed 2 different sizes for the top ane bottom so it was handy to buy them seperate. Not that I've worn a bikini since I was a teenager and most of the time wore a tankini as I didn't like showing off my body. Haven't worn a swimsuit since I was 24 and that was at my hen party 9 years ago. I would probably go for an all in one now, cover as much as possible.
My wife gets all hers from Shein at really good prices, she says they are great quality ect...
