Taking Your Own Food into the Cinema?
Ask a Question
Lets do a poll: Is it ever okay to take your own food into the cinema?
I have taken my own in for a good 15 years or so because it's way too expensive buying there!
Don't go much but when we do we take our own snacks, sneak popcorn in ect...lol it's ridiculous how much snacks cost in the cinema
martinlufc5637 When do you think the last time you bought snacks in the cinema was?
SamGoodship it was a long time ago, we are a large family so we have to cut costs down somewhere or it would be unaffordable for us
Rarely go to cinema but fid go recently to see the new deadpool. Yes we took our own food & drinks. Glad we did the prices were
We used to but the closest Cinema is now an Omniplex and we got told not to bring our own in last time we went. We won’t be going back!
Haven’t been in ages but was quite expensive then especially sweets. I would take my own sweets and maybe buy a popcorn, or take a snack pack in too. Captured audience prices are always hicked !
Me and my sisters used to take our own food in with our kids because it was expensive. I heard about a person on TikTok who was advising people to bring their own food into the cinema. It's nothing new. People do it today because the prices for food in the cinema are skyrocketing.
Good idea but I wouldn't.
I mean if you can afford to go to the cinema then why not save up for the food.
Personally I eat at home before I go to the cinema so never needed to buy any food from the cinema.
Especially with the ridiculous prices
I believe cinemas and other food businesses that charge ridiculous high prices are fooling themselves into believing this will bring greater profits. People aren’t always that stupid when it comes to prices. Nearly every family that I have ever known that are on low wages have taken their own food where it’s expressly forbidden. They resort to having lunch in the locker rooms at water parks, sneaking food into cinemas etc. Don’t these businesses realise that they would sell far more if they charged reasonable prices and have happier customers to boot.
I take my own drinks and popcorn and sweets as quite expensive to get the snacks from the cinema
Well I don't want to sound miserable but I find it really annoying when your trying to watch and listen to a film or especially at the theatre and all you can hear is the rustling of sweet wrappers, crisp packets, not to mention the ones that bring a picnic!
Go about once a year and always take own items bad enough costs for tickets get items before we go in.
We take in a drink and crisps or popcorn. I keep them in my handbag when we go in. If I was told I couldn't have them I'd go without. The food and drink prices in the cinema are too expensive.
Yes I always take bits to nibble on during the movie. Often sweets but recently took some fresh strawberries. Never crisps.
We used to have pizza hut right next to cineworld where I live and they did deals get a pizza and get in free or cheap to the cinema and if you got a cinema ticket you got cheap pizza and you could take pizza into the cinema. It shut after lockdown sadly. So I'd happily bring my own food in not that I go often
I have always taken my own food into the cinema. Two reasons, first it’s cheaper and second most of the products they sell are full of sugar.
Haven’t been to the cinema in years lol but why not? Saves you so much money!! They rip you off buy selling them at such damn high prices! More expensive than the actual film tickets!!
Yes with the prices for tickets and food these days it’s more than a good idea to take your own food
As a kid I use to get two of the long 'Toffo's to eat while watching a movie at the cinema and they were super easy to smuggle in and consume and no one cared. I don't go to the cinema nowadays so don't know what it is like nowadays but imagine it would still be easy to do and save yourself a lot of money. If I was going today I'd like to smuggle in a thermos flask and have some coffee while watching the movie but don't know whether I would get away with it. I seem to remember in the past I would smuggle in a can or two of 'Top Deck' to drink. Back then you had double features so could be in there 3-4 hours what with all the adverts and breaks etc. Double features I remember was Star Wars and Empire Strike Back, Live and Let Die and Man with a Golden Gun and a few Disney combinations.
The vue cinema is so expensive for snack, own private owned one is reasonable and I purchased from them, these private owned businesses need all the support they can get
