Not that I have noticed. I drink both normal and decaff and they both taste the same to me.

I know people who swear it doesn’t taste the same and I agree with them but I don’t know if it’s true. Would have to do a blind taste test

I think normal coffee is marginally nicer but I've become more caffeine sensitive with age and use decaffeinated mostly. However when I go into Wetherspoons and buy their coffee I can't really tell a difference between the decaff versions and normal versions from their machines. The Lavazza coffee they use is not on a par with Costa that is for sure but still very nice and with free refills amazing value. I typically have 2 refills so that £1.45 coffee is less than 50p a cup.

BonzoBanana I don't like lavazza myself.

I'm sensitive to caffeine myself so I limit how many I drink otherwise I get very anxious about tiny things

Imnotcheap I really question why Wetherspoons buys it. The size of their operation means they could just import the beans themselves and similar machines not linked to any one brand to make the hot drinks and save themselves huge money. Lavazza is no better in fact possibly very slightly worse than more generic plain beans I have bought for my own bean to cup coffee machine. I wouldn't buy a bag of Lavazza coffee beans again but I see it in many cafes, convenience stores etc. Costa is much nicer even from their machines.

I prefer the usual caffeine coffee but I made a mistake buying 6 jars of decaffeinated instant coffee. I’m blending the decaf with the ordinary and can’t taste any noticeable difference.

I don't think so, I just remain the same exhausted tramp chicken if I drink caffeine free as I would if I didn't drink any. There's profanities, destruction, blood, bodies, it tastes no different but its altogether safer if its caffinated 😂

agreed - I notice the difference between the decaf and proper caf Kenco Milicano tins. I have to buy both as my wife only drinks decaf. Maybe I could get used to the taste and switch across but I dont want too!

Yes, I had to change to decaffeinated coffee for health reasons and I could definitely taste the difference, it took trying a number of brands to find a decaf that tasted as good. I would recommend L'or Decaff Instant Coffee, other brands just tasted like rarely weak coffee. But then I like my coffee strong 🙂

We use the Aldi decaf and I do find it weaker than normal coffee but you get used to it.
