Did You Get a Tesco Xmas Delivery Slot?
Ask a Question
Tesco made Xmas delivery slots available at 6am this morning. Our alarm went off at 5:30am and MrsChimp got up to make us coffees so that I'd be awake enough for the off.
Got online at ONE SECOND PAST 6 and found myself in a queue with a waiting time of over an hour. By the time it was my turn (105 minutes later), the latest slot I could book was on the 22nd. We're not having Xmas dinner until Boxing Day so I hope the meat keeps.
Were you up at stupid o'clock ready to jockey for position in the queue? Did you manage to get a slot?
Can you do a click and collect instead? That way if you get subs you are at the shop to get any you don't want. I never get a delivery Christmas week as too much out of stock and weird subs. Good luck!
I am up about 3am daily anyway but I set the kitchen alarm to go off at 20 to 6. I logged in a couple of minutes later and joined the queue. It was all over by 6.30 and I had booked the 4 slots I wanted over Christmas.
I've got Asda vouchers to use this year. I did a secret shopper when my car went for its service and got £75 in vouchers as a thank you so they will pay for the food this year. I don't mind going into the shops to get stuff. I sometimes go in November, buy what I want and freeze it. Then just defrost.
Almost 2 hours in a queue for a shopping delivery slot! I think id much rather just go to the shops myself as long as i were able to
I don’t bother with Christmas deliveries anymore. Half the stuff is always missing and you have to go to the shop anyway
Didn't even try tbh. I do prefer Tesco but couldn't be fussed with waiting in a queue only to find the day I want wasn't available for delivery. Last year we did click n collect and got stuck in the car park for almost 2 hours trying to get out. It was insane. Opted for Asda this year, will walk into Tesco if need any other bits I can't get at Asda.
