Do You Think Binge Watching Shows is a Good Thing?

Ask a Question

I’m very impatient so I did initially enjoy the likes of Netflix releasing all the episodes of a season in one go

however, I’ve noticed I end up staying up all hours to finish off a show. And tbh I can’t really remember a lot of the content as I find most of the shows are slow to start with, can be a bit muddled and messy in the middle, and the end gets very intense and it infuriates me that I’d have to wait till next year for the next season to do it all again!

Are you a fan of binge watching shows?

It's not good for you if you binge watch it hours and hours on end, but I do it, end up losing lots of sleep lol but you can keep up with a story if you do and i certainly enjoy it a lot more as you forget things.

I do it every now and again. Most recently I marathoned Giri/Haji on BBC iPlayer and Treadstone on Amazon Prime Video. It's worse when a show gets cancelled and it's been left on a cliffhanger.

I hate that when it happens too! Just when something starts to get good and you find out it’s not coming back lol

I do this. but I shouldn’t like you send you end up staying up late or I don’t leave the house till iv finished the series at the weekend meaning no exercise and my sleep routine is messed up. As much as I like to binge watch isn’t not good for me

I think sometimes if you want to just turn off the world it is kinda good thing 🙂 but not too much

As I'm new to Netflix, yes, I'm loving it, but I can't sit and watch tv for hours. My pet goldfish can concentrate longer than me 😀 I find I can only watch 2-3 episodes in one go and I have to turn off as I can't sit still any longer. I tend to watch a series over 3 nights. I haven't stayed up half the night watching anything to completion.

Definitely the sensible thing to do. I end up using multiple devices so it’s definitely not good for concentration

I love Netflix so you can watch series without adverts and without waiting weeks for the next episode. If a dram is on normal tv, I will wait for all the episodes to be aired and then watch it like a Netflix series!

I see nothing wrong if people watch the whole series by bingeing. Personally I don’t because I only watch Netflix when there’s nothing on BBC or I’ve caught up with all the Coronation Street episodes that are on auto record.

I am binging the new horror series SERVANT as I type - and i type because it is soooo boring.

M Night Shyamalan produced it should have known it was going to be a big yawnfest but only 30 mins an episode so only 4.5 hours until its over.

Damn ocd its a real pain sometimes grrrrrrrrrr!

Apparently it is known technically as Box set binging and it is dangerous according to the Telegraph!

It depends a great deal on your circumstances and lifestyle. I often binge watch, but limit myself to 2 or 3 episodes of a series each night. If I watch one a week I have forgotten the last one before the next lol!
