What Did You Think of Josie Gibson?
Ask a Question
Josie Gibson has been chosen to present This Morning with Holly. What are your thoughts on this?
I am editing my original response as some people here can't read properly and are just looking to be righteous in their heavy handed opinions that don't even relate to my response to the topic...
Consumer Do you think they'd pick a European for "racial diversity" in an African/Asian country for a TV host or their President/PM? No. And that's perfectly fine and understandable.
There's nothing wrong a country hiring people of their own country. People shouldn't be ashamed or embarrassed.
Anyway, never heard of her nor watch this morning show.
PhilipMarc Yes. Or no. Or maybe they would. I don't care... I'm not saying that you SHOULD pick anyone for racial diversity. As I clearly wrote, I think it's a shame that they didn't in this particular case. Unlike you, I'm not comparing racial diversity to any other country, simply responding to the question as it relates to this show LOL
Consumer Alison Hammond, Rochelle Humes and her husband, Andy Peters and many other regular guests? Alison Hammond was main contender but I understood she chose not to accept as she has her own show and a varied career. Considering we are a predominantly white country I feel other races are extremely well represented on TV in general in dramas, adverts, talent shows etc. In fact adverts tend to be heavily weighted against white British these days. Personally I find Josie far too hyper and OTT and sometimes a bit of an airhead. GMB is very diverse and I have often watched when 3 of 4 presenters are of ethnic groups, so I think we should be proud of the diversity on our screens nowadays.
Just had to google Josie, I don't watch this morning, Josie seems a lovely lady, in hindsight they should come up with a new breakfast type show, I do think that "This Morning" has run its cause x
nina090976 yes I agree. Its been around a long time, maybe now is the time to think of something new.
Midnightflower I think I that goes way back I used to watch This Morning with Richard and Judy in the 90s, just gone off the whole concept of the programme, it hasn't moved with the times x
nina090976 in it's present form it may have run it's course, but I enjoy many parts of it. The health advice, cookery, phone ins and especially the discussions about things in the news. However, I detest the segments where they interview seemingly mentally ill people and treat their delusional ailments as real, it is tantamount to taking the pee out of these people in order to get viewers. Examples are the woman who insisted she was marrying a ghost, another having threesomes with God, another who was in love with her phone and had intimate relations with it. I thought we were meant to take mental health issues seriously these days, not hold sufferers up to ridicule.
I just had a look as I hadn't heard the new presenter has been confirmed, and I'm always reading the news and I think I would have seen the headlines, but there's nothing anywhere! They just announced who would be presenting with Holly on Monday at the end of the show, I think it would be bigger headlines than a small paragraph somewhere, and with this meeting looming, they might not announce anything yet anyway!?
JoTarpley They have now decided to add another present for Wednesday and Thursday, Craig Doyle. So Josie will only do Monday and Tuesday
eyeballkerry They are only swapping the presenters about until they decide on the regular presenter I would guess, nothing unusual here as they've all been presenting anyway!
eyeballkerry This is the latest update, just as I said
Holly will be joined by Josie Gibson for the first two shows of next week’s This Morning, while Craig Doyle will be her co-host later in the week, as Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary return for Friday’s episode as normal.
It has not yet been confirmed who Phillip’s permanent replacement will be.
eyeballkerry - Who cares? Philip Schofield private life has tarnish the programme. It's time take it off for good. Never heard of Josie Gibson.
jam45 I think people need to give Phillip a break. He had an affair with a younger, of age, guy. So what, plenty celebrities and 'normal people' have affairs all the time! Having an affair is wrong, but it's nobody's business other than his, the wife and the bloke he had the affair with! He lied, again people do all the time, still wrong, but he didn't want the world to know his business. Why is this national news and why has he been so vilified. He's not broken any laws and he's not a paedophile, so perhaps celebrities should be able to have a personal life and not lose careers over the judgemental publics opinions.
clairrobins74 He's no worse than the government C , look at Boris along with all the others cheating , lying and having affairs , and they are not running a TV programme but the Country !!!
I remember her from big brother and she seemed pretty nice, genuine & down to earth. Who knows if her media career has changed her, i hope not. Makes no difference to me either way as I don’t watch this morning
Looks like the BBC is after Holly now. Wouldn’t be a bad thing and either give This Morning a good shake up or get rid of it.
eyeballkerry That Holly woman is only looking after number one - herself. She is enjoying the free publicity to get other media work. According to several people she was fully aware of Philip Schofield's affair and said nothing.
jam45 used to like the pair of them, but Holly 'ending' a long friendship because Phillip denied an affair is something I don't understand
eyeballkerry She's already done work for the BBC, keep up, she doesn't even want to leave This Morning, it's the Bookies who are taking the bets, nothing to do with Holly!
clairrobins74 He lied to her!! He didn't tell her about his brother either, she found out another way, some best friend he turned out to be!
Never watch this morning but I like her. It's also good to havd someone on mainstream TV with a strong accent presenting rather then the more posh sounding accent that we are used to
