Ask a Question

I have been using Colgate toothpaste all my life and never had a filling? What is your experience with toothpaste brands?

I've changed toothpaste brands lots during my life. I just use the supermarket own sensitive toothpaste and haven't had any problems.

MrsCraig I have only changed from the different products in the Colgate range but never the brand. Due to having no fillings I think I will carry on.

eyeballkerry I haven't got any fillings, I just use whatever is the cheapest in the supermarket. I've tried all the different brands and apart from taste, can't say I've noticed a difference.

I was brought up on plain and simple Colgate. I’m 56 and have only 2 fillings.

dawarwick Two peas in a pod! But like I say I have never had a filling, but saying that I never go to the dentist. They are top of my fear list. Above spiders and I really don’t like them.

I just use the cheapest and dip in bicarbonate of soda , i get the same effect as the more expensive toothpastes where you are just paying for the name

telmel I generally buy Colgate when it is on offer and then stock up. I have never tried bicarbonate soda on my teeth but use it to clean around the home and baking!

eyeballkerry It works well for me E, much cheaper than buying one with it already in where they charge you a premium for it

I've always like Macleans but its not always available and have used some cheaper toothpastes but refuse to use the toothpastes that come from China or India. I had a weird reaction and felt very ill when I tried some Chinese made toothpaste once and this is often what supermarkets sell as their budget supermarket value brand option.

kitty88uk There are so many different varieties now. I really do not like the triple action one which is the cheapest one.

eyeballkerry I know right?! It’s annoying that there’s so many different ones! 🤦🏻‍♀️ the one we are using is Colgate advanced white has no strong mint flavour that gives the freshness after using it. And the flakes one is the same too. We buy when there’s a price reduction offer on them

Mum used to buy Crest but this is a looong time ago now. Since being adult and own bills etc we’ve tried a few considering the price. We now like Aquafresh but only if it’s on offer or nearest to a pound.

I usually just go for any of the quality brands that are on offer at the time. Have been using sensodyne more as i’ve got older as my teeth have gone sensitive.

LL81 I do like the pump ones but only purchase them when they are on offer. They were recently on offer in Poundland so I do buy a few.
