Have You Tried Kombucha??
Ask a Question
So a few years back I had to get my gallbladder removed. Following the surgery I was having to take daily tablets to combat effects of heartburn and reflux.
I then found a local company that produces their own kombucha. Drinking one glass a day has got me off the meds and I really look forward to my glass in the morning.
It’s full of probiotics which the gut loves. I’m finding my mood is better too.
Ive spoken with friends and family about it, and no one had even heard of kombucha.
Look it up for yourself. If you are lucky to have someone near you that makes this you could try it
Never tried it? Can you describe the taste at all? I imagine to be herbal?
emmabeckz there are different flavours available - I get the pineapple one as it’s good for inflammation. It is a bit sour tasting when you first start drinking it. But if you continue with it, it’s very easy to drink - I miss it when I’m on holiday. My tip for anyone trying it for the first time is to drink in first thing in the morning before you brush your teeth.
emmabeckz yes! If you are able to find someone that makes it, it is better than the shop bought stuff. A lot of the probiotics are killed off when preservatives are added. So if you can buy fresh, you will get more of the goodness. I hope you find it beneficial. I haven’t looked back since I started on my kombucha journey - I love it!
I was on medication for bad heartburn and reflux, tried other options nothing worked, now I use mentos mints believe it or not they worked, I'm off the meds don't need them
martinlufc5637 that’s amazing. I’m glad you found something that works for you and prevents you having to take medication
I'm not a fan of Kombucha, I think that it has a strange taste, especially the flavoured one. It is too sour for me.
coupons12a the one I get does taste sour when you first start drinking it. But I have persevered with it and love it. It stops me having to take daily medication, so for me it works and I love it
mbland22 maybe type kombucha and your town/city name into google to see if there’s anywhere local to you making it. I love it
I have tried it and drink it every few months. I'm all about probiotics so this is a good option!
My husband makes his own kefir which has similar properties as kombucha. It’s good for your gut health and lowers your cholesterol. It’s easy to brew your own daily supply with milk and the grain. He begrudged buying kombucha.
Pjran oh brilliant. I haven’t heard of kefir. I will have to look that up. Can you make it with any milk? I can’t drink cows milk
PayItForward I’m not sure but I can’t see why not. You have to have the grain to start it. There are people who will send you a bit just cover the postage.
Pjran I’ll definitely look into this. I think it’s good to try new things - especially when there are potential health benefits
PayItForward if you like plain yogurt then you’ll find this palatable but I don’t like it.
