UK Looks to Bring Back a 'Silly Measure' , Pint of Wine, Anyone?

Ask a Question

So this is the 'best' result of leaving the EU , Britain's great new Brexit freedom, drinking wine in pints

Never mind the cost of living crisis , homelessness, people using food banks , think yourself lucky you will be able to go to the pub and order a pint of your favourite wine !!

So instead of a round of beer , you can order a round of wine ,

Can you imagine how much four pints of pinot would cost you , four pints of heineken is expensive enough !!

To be honest i cannot see people staggering out of the pub after drinking this way, you would need to have won the lottery to afford to

Isn't it strange that after decimalisation we are now back to having pints - will that be followed by the old yard of ale? I'd be under the table if I had a measure of wine that size!

I asked for a glass of red wine in a pub recently only to be told 'We only sell by the bottle' As I was with friend we decided to just get the bottle. Cost £18.99. The same bottle was currently £7 in Tesco & Asda.

Not an issue for me as I can't stand wine anyway but people should be able to buy it however they like to buy it, be it a small glass, a pint, a half pint or a bottle. Something like this should never be regulated. However again with so many huge economic problems this shows the utter incompetence of politicians to focus on this trivial issue. If you want to focus on wine then encouraging more wine production in the UK so we are less reliant on imports and increased exports will help balance out the imports. Maybe measures to reduce costs here for wine growers.

BonzoBanana I think they have been drinking too much of it B, in pint glasses, it might explain what is happening here

Most wine sold here comes from elsewhere and I cant see anyone bothering to produce and sell pint bottles of wine and will just stick to the standard metric sizes already available which can be sold anywhere. This is just another pointless so called benefit of brexit.
