Yes it is a thing. Council will keep an eye. It's a form of education. It's a form of home schooling. If done right it can be brilliant. I say that as someone who works in education. I love my job but the curriculum is outdated and bases on what was needed pior to what we need now.

Hated school, never thought much of it, bullying etc. I would have done much better home schooled but couldn’t afford it and parents were not in position to. Just a childcare system. Everyone needs education though. Depends if child wants to learn, if they do they will.

I did this when my daughter turned 16 and it was the best thing for her. She had a bad time at school but came out of herself when she left.

"let the kids decide when and what they learn"

Homeschooling is a perfectly valid reason for parents to protect their kids from schools, but that is just insane.

Protect? Yes.

And the Pride community, in their own words: "We'll convert your kids." and "We're coming for your children."

This is truly despicable and sickening.

PhilipMarc seriously you need to stay off you tube not everything on there is true, I don't understand what the pride community has to do it ?and I'm homeschooling because we wanted to do it from the moment we found out we was having a baby we spoken to my daughter and asked her first and she's happy with it she knows full well what's gonna happen and what she will be learning

PhilipMarc I did watch it doesn't mean nothing to me I'm not homophobic and if any of my children grow up and become part of this community then so will I why? Because there's my kids and I will love and support them no matter what. These in this videos are activist not like the actual community

I haven't heard of unschooling before it sounds really interesting. I think our education system has become very outdated and needs a major over haul, it seems to be failing alot of children so I completely get why parents choose to home school or unschool.

I do think it can be a good thing but it can be very dangerous and will in the long term do such damage . I know of 2 people who pulled there kids out of school and home schooled them but in theory there home schooling was entirely based on promoting there "You Tube " channel .

stuartsmith544 I think it's only damaging when it's for the wrong reasons my daughter will be homeschooled and going to different classes to keep her socialising she wants to do boxing so I'm looking into that 😊

Yes the school system needs updating to what is relevant, too out dated!

All children should know how to manage finances before leaving school..
