Amazon Update Same-Day Delivery Options Wiith Prime

Other

Has anyone else received an email from Amazon about Same Day Delivery options changing?

I received the following from them today....

Dear Prime Member,

As we invest to improve our Same-Day delivery service we are writing to let you know about an update to the Same-Day delivery options available for Prime members in eligible postcodes.

The majority of Prime members currently receive most of their Prime orders with One-Day delivery, while free Same-Day delivery can be manually selected for eligible orders.

From 18 September 2023:

Your Prime Same-Day or Overnight (Tomorrow by 1 PM) orders over £20 will automatically be delivered to you using the fastest available option, at no extra cost. This means that where available, you will get eligible orders delivered for free on the same day or by 1PM the following day, depending on when you place your order.

Eligible Prime orders under £20 will continue to be shipped with free One-Day delivery. Where available, Same-Day delivery can be selected at checkout, but there will be a fee of £1.99 per delivery for orders under £20. The fee for customers who are not Prime members will remain £5.99.

For more information about Prime delivery, please click here. You can manage or cancel your membership at any time by visiting your account.

We hope you continue to enjoy your many shopping and entertainment Prime benefits, including Prime Video, Amazon Music, Prime Gaming, Prime Reading and more.

Thank you for being a Prime member.

Your Amazon Prime Team

Really can't see this happening where I live in Wales as they are introducing a ridiculous 20mph limit on most roads in September , Amazon won't stand chance of keeping up with their deliveries.

Thank you for sharing. Amazon seems to be going a bit backwards on its delivery.

Tom And not just its delivery, but other Prime benefits as well.

Amazon Music is practically unusable now, you may ask a smart speaker to play a song, but Amazon will shuffle it with similar songs so it's a lottery as to whether you actually get to hear the song requested.

Yes I've had the email. I often have 'by 1pm' deliveries, which have been free, however, if I was in dire need of an item under £20 before 1pm I wouldn't mind paying the £1.99 charge

I've never really had the need for amazon to deliver the same day so don't often bother, however most of our delivery's arrive late afternoon/early evening so it could be helpful if they can manage it.

Just stick with the usual spend of £25 for free delivery 🚚 you can easily spend that amount these days on any items! As it will take at most 3 or 5 days

If you want something in terms of like foods asap go buy it yourself at supermarkets

Think 🤔 about how much money you can save by not paying for the prime membership!!

The first time I have seen a 1pm delivery was when I ordered yesterday for today. I had to double take. I don't recall seeing an email about it

Rarely do same day delivery but the by 1pm is super handy, especially as the driver for those seems to have a set route always delivered to me by 9:30am.

It is dissapointing to get what is in effect a reduction in Prime benefits, but as someone else said £1.99 isn't a fortune if you need something urgently.
