Do You Still Use Traditional Post?
Ask a Question
We have already stocked up on our first class stamps before the imminent price hike. We don’t post much but still useful to have in some circumstances. Christmas, birthdays, medical letters, forms etc.
Yes, I still use traditional post for some competitions where the postal entry is free but there is the cost of the stamp to take into account. We receive very little post now except for the few important letters.
I can't remember the last time I posted a letter, and with the price of stamps I'm happy about that.
The majority of the post I receive nowadays is junk mail too, which makes me wonder how companies can afford to send it.
We just use the only service where they bring a label or collect the parcel etc, much more convenient
Yes. I still send cards in the mail. Is there another price increase due? It’s getting mental now the cost of everything
PayItForward ..
Yes afraid so, I bought over £70 worth of First & Second Class last time the price went up & still had some left. Last week I bought £80 worth.
Only really to post out items that i’ve sold. I do love to receive a birthday and Christmas card though
I stocked up on my stamps in 2012 (when it cost 36p, 1st class and 24p, 2nd class I think, 1st class large 66p? and 2nd class large 54p?) and exchanged lots of them last year and made a massive profit!
I use royal mail quite a lot but all for ebay sales of old computer leaflets and magazines I sell really. I pay for the labels through ebay itself. At the moment Yodel is £2.69 for up to 1kg so cheaper than the royal mail's tracked letter post surface for items up to 750g that are 1inch or less thick so where items get close to the 1inch thickness I just post them by Yodel and save a penny.
At Christmas I write the cards out for partner's family in Northern Ireland, about 14, put them in a large envelope, sellotape it down & put my Inital & surname & post code on. I take the envelope to be weighed at our Post Office & it saves me £££'s..
I walk & post the cards if it's not more than 40 min walk or get my partner to drop them off if the addresses are local..
I have a letter on my desk ready to post - think its the first one I have had to send for ages - keep forgetting it. So rare cant do things online so hardly ever need to post letters.
I only send birthday cards by post but try my best to hand deliver most of them. I belong to mail agent where I earn stamps by posting letters etc. I haven’t purchased a stamp in years.
Only for work, but never for personal stuff. It’s been ages since I sent something out, and even then the last time I used a courier
I send cards still, hoping they actually arrive 1st class but notice we get nothing then a load at once. Shocking.
I haven't posted a letter in years. I used to get books of stamps but stopped probably 15 years ago
I like to receive 'real post' but now I don't think we'll get that much anymore. Who can afford to sent Christmas cards to people you've not seen for ages, the new price of a stamp will have a big impact I think
Auntielettie ....Yes it will but there are other ways which cost NOTHING, like a message on Social Media..
Very rarely, I post anything these days. Emails are free, post anything is expensive these days.
Very rare, when I send invoices out it all sent via emails. For birthdays I tend to use Moonpig or amazing or something like that
Only for the odd card or sending documentation. Amazon use it! again part of my monthly Sub & Save came via Royal Mail this morning, single items and 1 part of 4, the other 3 of 4 are being delivered by Amazon tracking 2.30-4.30 oops 2-5 oops before 9pm when I got them at 3.45 minus 'you are x stops away' he dropped and ran.
