Wanted to Let Anyone Know Best Way to Stop Ants Coming into Kitchen!

Money Saving

After discovering 3 ants or Friday, then a trail of ants in my kitchen yesterday, happily walking backwards and forth helping themselves to my sugar, in my cupboard - must of been at least 30!!! I quickly googled what I could use to get rid of them ASAP. Saw many suggestions, but only one I had to hand was window cleaner- windoline to be precise. It said spray along entrance point and they hate smell. I done this, then on way home from work, paid £5 for ant powder, to arrive home to no ants at all. I've left putting powder down (as I hate how it looks anyway, and worry my cat might lick it) and 14hrs later still no sign of ants!!! Wanted to share this tip as I'm getting a refund for the powder!!

Ant Stop! Bait Station Home Defence Ant Stopper is what I used a few summers ago when we were under massive attack and it worked striaght away. Had to keep using them for the summer but they were deadly to ants.

I have those plug in things in my house as every summer had ants coming in. After using them it seems to have stopped so they must do something

I don’t think they like vinegar either and it’s natural and harmless to anything else.

Reminds me of the film my big fat Greek wedding, he used windex as a cure for everything

I've done this before and it doesn't work long term. As soon as the smell is gone they will come back. Only thing that I've found that works is the traps.

I read to make some garlic water, basically pour boiling water in a jug with crushed or minced garlic, leave to cool. Pour into a trigger bottle and spray the ants and the area where they came in. Super cheap and natural.

I use a mix of icing sugar and bicarbonate soda as Ant traps. I find it incredibly effective and I think it would save for your cat.

I use a equal mix of both

The ant are drawn the icing sugar but can't tell the difference between the two and the bicarbonate soda kills them.

It will initially attract more ants but after a day or so you'll be rid of them

It's also wise the follow them and try to find the nest and boiling water is effective and destroying nest. Also fill in any cracks they might be coming from in your walls if you spot them.
