Hello looking for advice my washing machine was gifted to me about a month ago as my old was leaking now I don't know where is was kept but I've done white vinegar on 90 degrees wash twice and used washing machine cleaner too and still I'm getting brown what look like little bits of mud on clothes and honestly it's driving me insane what could it be?
Try actually taking the ‘dosing drawer’ out. Give that a good scrub.
To clean the slot that the drawer slides into I use a thick tea towel soaked in boiling water - ring it out and push as much of it as you can into the slot - the heat and steam loosens the powder that is stuck in there as sometimes it’s brown. Use a long kitchen washing up brush to scrub it. Repeat if necessary- then use the white vinegar on a long boil wash.

suevernon1968 I've done that twice in bleach with the draw done the rubber too cleaned it again on 60 washing and dried everything out put a wash on this morning and my daughter jump got all marks on it 
Leannexxx have you checked to see if you can get a finger between the metal drum and the rubber seal? Clothes could get part of the way through then come back into the drum when it spins again. (I was told that’s where socks go to die and leave you with odd socks lol)
suevernon1968 honestly I done everything I'll put it on another hot wash and if it keeps doing it that's it in getting a new one
Leannexxx or see if there is a plumber in the area that would do a free call out - if he knows what it is he would probably tell you if it’s worth repairing.
If you do buy a new machine- AO promises to match any like for like price.
I think the old fashioned twin tubs used to get clothes cleaner than the modern ones do !

The blotchy marks that are sometimes left on your clothes after you've washed them can be caused by 'scrud', which is a waxy build-up of fabric softener or detergent in the drum of your washing machine.
Try cleaning the drum by running an empty cycle with a cupful of white vinegar or bleach instead of detergent, or look for products specially designed for this purpose.
martinlufc5637 thanks I've done it twice with ginger on 90 degree wash lol and a washing machine cleaner and it's still doing it I'm gonna try again tomorrow and if it still does it then I'm done I'm gonna get a new one
I'm assuming that you live in an area that has hard water, if that's the case then you'll have a horrible build up of scrud which is caused by washings being done in colder water in shorter cycles which means that the soap power or gel isn't actually gone from the machine with every wash, try use dissolving 2–3 dishwasher tablets in a bucket of hot water and pour it into the washing machine drum. Then, run the washing machine's longest and hottest cycle. then do another washing to see if it helps.
Leannexxx Was it a used machine or new because if it was used and lay for a while the scrud will have hardened and will need to be treated by either using the dishwasher tabs option or you could use calgon and run a laundry free cycle on it's longest and hottest setting without any detergants then run another laundry free cycle to rinse and then you should be good to go. I recommend washing on the hottest setting with a couple of bleach tablets in the drum. You've nothing to lose really it seems that you are doomed to buy a new machine anyway!
Try adding a dash of vinegar instead of fabric conditioner. Fingers crossed it helps your machine.
Oh no, that sounds terrible. I don’t have any additional advice as it sounds like you have already tried what I was going to suggest. I hope you get to the bottom of it though
check the filter and also does your washing machine is in the kitchen connected to under sink waste. Maybe the issue is with a blockage somewhere. Try to clean the rubber around the the opening of washing machine, sometimes you can pull the rubber out a bit. I assume no rust in the drum or in the drawer?
