If You Went to University. Did You Follow the Career You Studied?

I lived in a time when it was not something a girl from a working class family would do. Had to leave school at 15 and work, giving just over half of wages to my parents.

I got a clerical job at NAAFI (Navy, Army and Air Force Institute) which gave me the idea of joining the Navy. I did so but you had to leave when you married and had a child, yes really!

When my kids went to school I started as a Registrar and did it for 26 years.

I went to university to study history and RMPS. I then got my PGDE and became an RMPS teacher. So I did what I went to uni to do.
