What's Your Favourite Movie Quote?
Ask a Question
Hi everyone
What's your favourite movie quote? List yours below and see if anyone can guess the film it's from.
I'll start with mine: "What's your favourite scary movie?"
Father of a murdered son, husband of a murdered wife, and I will have my revenge, in this life or the next
From my favourite film - "You're Only Supposed to Blow the Bloody Doors off!"
Anyone care to guess the film?
blacklabrador The Italian Job? No one else seems to be guessing them or have already given the answer. I thought my one above was very well known!
Lynibis Correct. Actually I didn't know yours - I like the film but didn't place the quote.
Gladiator of course but I think Are you not entertained? was more memorable from that movie haha
csjamesliu I guess that bit just stood out for me as it was the climax when he disclosed his identity, but yes, are you not entertained was also memorable.
Ok, I got yours and agree with tumblespots. Mine has got to be ‘ I carried a water melon’. This sums up many times in my life where the wrong words have come out.
And remember, this gun is pointed right at your heart.
That is my *least* vulnerable spot.
From the same film
Liebchen - sweetness heart, what watch?
Ten watch.
Does anyone remember this: I WILL find you, no matter how long it takes, no matter how far, I will find you'
Daniel Day-Lewis as Hawkeye , Last of the Mohicans L , good film
My favourite '' I know what you're thinking, punk. You're thinking "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Now to tell you the truth, I've forgotten myself in all this excitement ''
telmel Dirty Harry - another excellent film from Clint - did you get my first one??
tumblespots Clint Eastwood , The Outlaw Josey Wales
How about "They may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom!"
sophiereddy - My favourites are: Houston, we have a problem (clue: A***** *3; I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse (clue: The G********); There's no place like home (clue: The ****** of **).
A memorable movie quote can stick with us long after the film has ended, and can even become part of our everyday language and cultural references.
Whether it's a funny one-liner, a powerful statement, or a poignant reflection, a great movie quote has the ability to capture the essence of a character, a moment, or even a generation. Quotes like "May the Force be with you" from Star Wars, "Here's looking at you, kid" from Casablanca, or "I'll be back" from The Terminator have become iconic and instantly recognizable.
The power of a movie quote lies in its ability to connect with us on a deeper level, tapping into universal themes and emotions that resonate with audiences across time and culture. So, what's your favorite movie quote?
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses." Hit it.
I have the power! The quickening that empowers me! I feel everything! I know everything! I am everything!”
MartinJarvis is the one above the blues brothers? Haven't a clue what your second one might be.
It is the Blues brothers one of my favourite the second one is Highlander another of my favourite films.
MartinJarvis would never have guessed but have seen and liked the Highlander films.
This is where I get annoyed, people put chats on here and then do not respond to any of the answers. What’s the point? And this is an LD team member.
eyeballkerry could it be something to do with not earning points, you have to respond to at least one of 4 comments before you get them so maybe they're not allowed
eyeballkerry actually I am with you on that one having read over some chats, what is the point? No points for no answers.
That's not a quote by the way, lol!
Because you didn't come here to make the choice. You already made it. You're here to try to understand why you made it.
"He Had A Quiet Way About Him, A Walk And A Talk That Just Wasn’t Normal Around Here. He Strolled Like A Man In The Park Without A Care Or Worry In The World, Like He Had On An Invisible Coat That Would Shield Him From This Place.”
I’m tired, boss. Tired of being on the road, lonely as a sparrow in the rain. I’m tired of never having me a buddy to be with, to tell me where we’s going to, coming from, or why. Mostly, I’m tired of people being ugly to each other. I’m tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world, every day. There’s too much of it. It’s like pieces of glass in my head, all the time.
MartinJarvis omg, that is so touching, from the word 'Mostly' onwards that is how I constantly feel and wish mankind could learn. Anyway, I haven't a clue what quotes they are but they obviously touched you and I hope you will tell us idc.
Lynibis 2 of my favourite prison dramas adapted from Stephen King Short stories . Number 1 Is The Shawshank Redemption and 2 the Green Mile both a riveting watch.
MartinJarvis I watched the Shawshank redemption again just recently and enjoyed it immensely, if enjoyed is the correct word. I have seen The Green Mile but not sure I could ever watch again, too distressing.
