Pie and mushy peas, probably the only time I eat them is in the colder months, spring summer I don't bother

PayItForward Sorry , I love either with a pie . But it's pie with mushy peas OR Gravy (preferably thick with onions ) - never both together !

intherealworld I'm the same, gravy with mushy peas isn't for me lol , your mention of onion gravy has now prompted me to make sausage and onion gravy with mash and garden peas for dinner today, I haven't had it for ages....

Probably just soup because it’s quick and cheap. Nice to have with some bread or roll.

I do love a stew. Always know when that stew pot is out that’s what you’re eating for next couple of days as well 😂

Lynibis I don’t think I’ve ever had chicken stew - only ever had beef. I’m going to try the chicken one.

PayItForward must admit I have never made a beef one lol. I guess both the same method except meat and stock is different.

I'm not entirely sure I have one to be honest. My husband has taken to making Cullen Skink recently. As long as there is something to eat for dinner I'm happy.

Fish and chips or maybe egg and chips is a very satisfying meal when cold I guess because of the fat content. Also a curry is very nice in the colder months.

I am having a cup of tomato soup. It’s quick and warms you up. I do love homemade pies and casseroles in the winter.
