Whats the Longest Time You Have Been Waiting in A&E For?

Ask a Question

My husband went today and we spent a total of four hours which I didn’t think was too bad, this included getting an X-ray, an ECG, blood tests and all the results.

I’m inpatient so what feels like an hour probably not especially when in pain. I do remember was soooo long as was strike, was kept in cubicle size of postage stamp with a chair to sleep on..

I was in a&e last Monday and in and out within an hour. Was hoping to in longer as it meant I didn't have to go back to work and was being paid to sit in peace. I was bitten by a kid and had to be checked out by a&e.

On my last suspected blood clot, I spent 13 hours in a&e, then to be told I would have to come back the next morning, because there was nobody available to do a ultrasound, I was furious

Twice i've been taken into hospital by ambulance so lucky enough to be seen more or less straight away.

HEDGEHOGS Wow , people seem to be really lucky to be seen straight away. I once had a kidney stone, the worse pain ever, I had to wait for ages until finally I collapsed on the floor.

The last time I was at A&E I was there for 7 hours. My 90 year old neighbour was taken to A&E a few months ago and she was placed on a chair for 24 hrs. After seeing the doctor she had to wait another day until they found her a bed.

Sugarbabe That’s absolutely awful. Can I ask which hospital this was? That is definitely not right by any standards.

eyeballkerry I'm not going to name the hospital, but it is in Portsmouth. To tell you the truth, it's not a good hospital.
