Whos Doing Sober for October?

Ask a Question

This will be the first year in the last 9 years that my husband and I are not doing sober for October. We’re going on holiday, and going to enjoy some nice meals with wine.

I haven't drank in 12 years so it makes no difference to me

Leannexxx my friend stopped drinking 2 years ago. She said how she felt after consuming alcohol wasn’t worth it. She goes out on a paddle board on the weekends and loves it

I don't drink that much, most I drink is when I'm on holiday, my brother is an alcoholic, I doubt he'll take any notice of it

martinlufc5637 addiction is a terrible thing. I hope for your brothers sake he gets himself help - he’s the only one that can do it

I won’t be taking part, I don’t remember ever knowingly doing it. However I do have non alcoholic beer and wine with the weekly normal beer or wine.

I’m not much of a drinker really so i imagine that my October will be sober by default.

It would make absolutely no difference to me because I don't drink. Haven't drank in over 6 years. I will be sober for October because I always am.

Good idea but I won't be doing it. I'm OK just restricting alcohol use throughout the year 😃

I have just finished a whole year alcohol free. I don't feel any different but have lost weight.I feel quite proud when I walk past the wine aisles and don't stop to buy.Must have saved a lot of money. No need for sober for October.

SueWard a friend had to stop drinking wine as she found out she was reacting to the sulphates. She’s lost a good bit of weight. Wine must be crazy high in calories

No I won’t be doing this. I’m not a heavy drinker and just enjoy an occasional glass of wine.

I'm not a massive drinker. I hadn't drunk from March til August and only drunk cos of the horrible hotel and how tui dealt with it. Not drunk enough to be drunk but a glass of wine.

Stop October doesn't effect me as it is just cos I only drink a glass if I do drink. I hit 18 and started getting 2 day hangovers so it's not a massive thing for me as 1 night put isn't worth losing 2 days of my life

I'm not alcohol free as I do drink small amounts of alcohol. I do a shandy at home that is about 5 percent beer (cheap beer which is very low alcohol percentage) and 95 percent lemonade and occasionally have some cider. I have cider at the moment, bought a cheap bottle of 2 litres from Aldi for about one pound ninety and that will last quite a few weeks. Last cider I bought before that was perhaps 3 months ago. I don't do wine or spirits anyway. I shall continue as I am basically. Just very low levels of alcohol occasionally.

I don’t drink anyone although my daughter owns a pub and I could have what I like. What I don’t understand is a couple who come in the pub stop drinking in October but for the other 11 months drink like fish.

It wouldnt make much of a challenge for me as I probably drink about 5 times a year, so not sure anyone who knows me would sponsor me 😂 Well done to those that do though! If it was something around giving up chocolate, then that would be a challenge

We don't really drink much in my family anyway, an odd one here or there, can take it or leave it but won't conciously be taking part ine sober October.
