Do You Wish for Snow This Year??
Ask a Question
I like the look of snow when it has settled on the ground, but I hate walking in it and driving on it.
Some of my neighbours and friends are hoping it will snow this year - and I’m hoping for the opposite. It’s so impractical when it comes to getting about lol.
Are you hoping it snows??
I love snow and I don’t. Like you I like when it’s falling/settled but the aftermath with all the slodge and slush I hate
xKJG93 yes! It is an absolute nightmare. I couldn’t count the amount of times I’ve fallen in the sludge
Not really looking forward to winter let alone snow. The council doesn’t grit the side roads so they become slippery and sludgy. I appreciate children love it so maybe it could snow on a Saturday or Sunday just for them.
Pjran where I live, you have to come up a huge hill, then down a steep hill into my cul-de-sac. It’s lethal for walking up/down, and even worse driving. There have been many occasions when people can’t get their cars up the hill, and have to abandon them. I just hope we don’t get it as it will be havoc lol
PayItForward snow once settled looks beautiful but as soon as cars and people walking on it becomes lethal. I hope your area doesn’t get snow, take care.
It may look pretty when it settles but this country cannot cope with the tiniest bit of snow. The whole country comes to a complete halt.
LL81 if there was more funding for gritting it wouldn’t be as bad. I’ve had to buy my own salt and grit to do around our street
I like watching it come down but hate going out in it and walking, I have to use crutches to get around so it leaves me house bound, it's impossible to get around in snow
martinlufc5637 it is difficult for anyone, never mind your personal situation with crutches. Fingers crossed we don’t get any
I hate the cold but I do love how snow looks. So pretty!
Love it a lot but not if you have to go anywhere!
Roads and rail grinds to a halt as we can't cope with snow for some reason here.
That first day when it snows it is great and obviously really cool for kids. After that it just becomes a massive stress
I don’t mind a bit of snow if I don’t have to go out in it. It’s the ice and slush I don’t like.
I love snow but only when it settles well enough to have fun in. I hate the mush that we get
I love watching the snow flakes fall, being the first to step on them but hate when they turn to Ice...
janphoenix51 yes. The ice makes it so slippery and dangerous. I have a neighbour late 90’s that is already unsteady on her feet. I salt her path for her, but if she goes onto the road she could have a bad fall
It's alright when you're on the inside looking out lol. When it's crisp and white like a Christmas card. Not nice going out in the cold and treading through sludge or tripping on hidden ice though!
MelissaLee1 if you’ve nowhere to go you’re fine. But who can honestly say they can stay in for 4 days without needing to go to the shop etc
PayItForward I make a point of going out everyday even if just for a wander on the block.Clears the mind and empties the purse lol.
I do like to see snow, but it causes such chaos in this country, so would rather avoid it. If only it could snow in the fields , parks and hills and miss the roads , pavements town centres etc, that would be perfect.
Mango4 yes lol. If only! the amount of car accidents when the snow falls is crazy. insurance companies must be busy when it’s snows
Hmm this is a good question! I like snow makes you get into the festive season more lol but then it gets too cold and I’m like I want spring to come soon! Lmao
Have to be careful with walking or driving in it too!
I love to see it snowing and settled on the ground, love that children can get out and have fun building snowman but I prefer to stay in the warm until its all gone.
It does look nice when it has first settled. We live in a very quiet road where nobody goes out when it snows so it does look really pretty for a long while.
I love snow but it's what comes after. I becomes so dangerous. With the ice snow and sludge
Sa681 one year it didn’t snow, so my neighbour hosed his driveway so it would ice over. He gave his kid a baking tray as a sledge so she could slide on it. Only issue was, the water from when he was hosing ran onto the road, so it was slippery as anything. I think a few people must have spoke with him about it, because he hasn’t done it again lol
