Do you worry about asking for money back?
They say around 1/3 of people feel uncomfortable asking for money back from friends or family for things like a meal, coffee or event, costing us around £318 a year.
Yes, I’m not comfortable about reminding people that they haven’t settled their part of a bill. We also have a friend who never carries any cash.
Pjran That's a shame I'd say, aww no cash? That's a shame, maybe you should think about carrying some as you never seem to have any. Then get yourself double of what they are wanting to buy and keep it 
Some people take the mick and start to expect it, then they are bragging about how much money they have and never return the favour. Not my kind of people now.
My friend still owes me £50 from 14 years ago I've never asked for it back because I was so worried it would affect my friendship with her
SamGoodship I knew it would because she was having a hard time at that time so me asking for my money back when I knew she was struggling wouldn't have gone down well
I usually write the first one off but am loathe to lend again if no returns.Even and especially with my nearest and dearest,

I'm not. Even if it's as little as 0.-something, if there's something wrong then I'll want a refund or a replacement.
Yes I hate asking for money back. I hate owning. I never carry cash and have asked for people to give me their PayPal account details so I can transfer it across
Jerseydrew ..My partner never carries cash but I do,he PayPal's me what he owes me & I return the favour..
I have a cash tin,usually get £200 out & use that to pay when I know people don't do card like our window cleaner & local shop..

I have let people borrow money off me in the past and sometimes struggled to get it back but eventually always did. I don't really have anyone to lend to these days and lucky enough have no need to borrow.
If we are going out for a meal or a coffee, we either split it or one of us pays and the other one pays next time.
I've only ever lent money twice and got it back both times. First friend never had to ask, they sent money every month till it was paid off. Other person we had to fight to get it back, but we didn't let it go. Even went to their partner, who had no idea she has borrowed it, so he made sure it was paid back.
My dad always said never lend money that you can't afford to lose.
I don't lend anyone money, but if I did, I would make it clear they need to pay it back before we go out again 
I would only lend to people I know will repay. It's embarrassing to have to ask. So far it's been ok
I know I feel awkward about it, another bug bear is the person who orders the most expensive thing on the menu and then says let's split the bill. When I was younger I would just suffer in silence. Now it depends on my mood, state of my finances, I am more likely to let it go at the beginning of the month as I have just been paid. But it does foster resentment.
