Yankee Candle
Ask a Question
I've wanted to try Yankee candles because everyone I know goes on about them so today I got two to see what they are like and I got a cheap one from Asda for £1 have to say I'm very disappointed in the Yankee ones but the Asda one is fantastic spiced berries and I can smell it all over my flat what candles do you recommend?
I’ve always found that Yankee candles are overrated. Never really understood people spending so much money on them. I’ve not found a scented candle that’s really scented….. think I might give the Asda one a try thanks
reannsgran well I wanted to try them for myself as you said they are definitely overrated the Yankee on is in my bathroom can't smell it and the Asda on it in my kitchen can smell it all over my flat it's on sale at the moment for a £1 so wish I got more of them on my delivery
Proper Yankee candles are good, not as good as they used to be tho. The supermarket ones are yankee inspirations & are poorer in comparison. My favourite candles are a brand called our candle company. Usually get them off Amazon. To be honest I prefer wax melts, I find scents throw better. The ones from Asda gor £2 a pack are lush
Glitterandgold oh I'll will have a look at the place you said thanks don't know why it's it's only been for that last two months I've gone mad on candles
I do like a yankee candle but no way will i pay their asking prices. I do find they burn longer and smell a bit better than the cheap knock offs but still not worth the massive difference in price.
Ikea also do their own range of cheap candles
Nice but overrated on price. So many nice candles you can get for cheaper.Asda ones as you rightly say are nice.
MelissaLee1 definitely after trying them both I would recommend Asda candles even at £2 that's a great price but I got some on sale for £1
I can never understand the price that Yankee candles charge. I have never purchased one and never will. To be honest I only use candles at Christmas.
I have never bought a Yankee candle for myself, only gift sets for other's at Xmas, I also have a couple given to me as gifts. As you say, very disappointing and can barely detect the aroma.
Lynibis I know this is off topic lol but as I've said before I can't cook and I would normally buy frozen chicken wings but I got some nandos rub so I've brought fresh now my question I've noticed there is some blood in the tray of chicken wings do I wash them first before adding the rub? Lol sounds so stupid this question
Jerseydrew I've been looking online for the wicks I've got a few glass jars so I'm planning on reusing the left over wax
I've always thought Yankee Candles were overpriced and overrated. I've had cheap ones from Morrisons, Tesco, B&M and all have been better than Yankee Candles.
MrsCraig I use to collect candles but never lit them till about 2 months ago and seen some in home bargains and thought I'll give them ago coz to be honest can't use the plug in and I don't like using sprays with my kids around and I have found one Yankee for 79p was very small but it was nice so that's what made me try the bigger ones lol I won't be wasting my money on them again cheaper is definitely better
I now buy plain white pillar candles rather than the scented ones. My husband and friend don’t like the fragrances.
I definitely wouldn’t rate them, or justify spending the money on one even discounts still expensive for what they are.
I have never found Yankee candles to be any good, they are overrated and over priced. Cheaper ones aren't much better. I've yet to find a candle that I can actually smell, without nearly sticking my nose in it. Waste of money.
LyndaSarrington Asda own spiced berries a small one is a £1 and honestly I could smell it all over my home and I had it in the kitchen
