- Promised to be a Hummus Heaven
- Hummus Fans are invited to try the world's biggest selection
A hummus festival will be coming to Manchester in March, so you can celebrate the hugely underrated dip.
It’s being held in Manchester on the 1st March, from 10am-4pm, so if you’re working, you can head there on your lunch break.
The University’s Lebanese society will be hosting the event, but don’t worry, it’s open to both students and non-students, so no one will miss out.
According to the event’s description, you’ll be able to taste the best authentic Lebanese hummus, and they’ll be some exciting events happening throughout the day, including a blindfolded hummus tasting competition.
Each hummus at the festival will be vegan, and hummus wraps will be provided for those who fancy a quick meal instead of snacking on the dips.
Laura Najem, founder of the University of Manchester’s Lebanese Society said, “The society did some research and noticed that there was a great demand for hummus among student.
“However, the hummus for sale at local stores didn’t have the same taste as the authentic one that is made back home in Lebanon, which is how the idea of the hummus festival developed.
“We want other students to really get to experience homemade hummus, and also get a taste of other variants of the authentic hummus recipe.”
It’s looking like it’ll be a packed event, with almost 4,000 interested on it on Facebook.
