Tesco and Competitors Heat Up with Hot BBQ Deals
With BBQ season quickly approaching, Tesco has sparked a deal frenzy with its latest Clubcard offers, providing budget-friendly options for those planning a holiday grill-out. Supermarkets across the board, including Aldi, Lidl, Sainsbury’s, and Morrisons, are rolling out their best prices on BBQ essentials, from burgers and sausages to sweet treats like ice cream.
Tesco is leading the charge with a range of discounts for Clubcard holders, including two Fire Pit BBQ products for £8, featuring items like beef kebabs, jumbo pork sausages, and pork loin steaks. Other notable discounts include Richmond pork sausages, now £2 down from £3.60, and Ben & Jerry’s Sundae Marshmallow S’more ice cream, reduced to £3.75 for Clubcard members.
Lyndsey Young at The Sun provides a comprehensive look into these deals, noting that prices are always subject to change and emphasizing the importance of shopping around for the best offers.
Exploring Other Supermarket Deals
Morrisons counters with multi-buy savings, such as two packs of thick pork sausages for £5 and three packs of British beef quarter pounders for £10. Sainsbury’s offers Nectar cardholders 50% off selected meat cuts, and Lidl highlights its BBQ favorites with low prices on seasoned chicken thighs and a variety of sausages.
Aldi isn't left behind, offering discounts on items like Cumberland sausages and specially selected Wagyu beef burgers, with a focus also on accompanying summer vegetables and tasty condiments.
Asda rounds out the competitive field with deals like three for £8 on selected meat and fish, and a noteworthy review on its Wagyu burgers: "These were tasty and juicy. They also didn’t shrink. Will buy again.”
Tips for Smarter Shopping
For those looking to extend their savings beyond BBQ items, strategies include looking for discounted products with yellow or red stickers, choosing store brands over luxury labels, and participating in schemes like Lidl’s Waste Not, which offers boxes of fruit and vegetables at reduced prices.
Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, commented, "It's always exciting to see supermarkets compete to offer the best deals, especially as the BBQ season kicks off. Tesco’s Clubcard deals are particularly enticing this year, but savvy shoppers will benefit from comparing prices across all major stores to ensure they get the most bang for their buck."
Tesco are diabolical. They may be offering the best deals on a few products but their overall reputation has an awful lot to be desired. They are renowned for misleading signage of lower prices. Putting the more affordable options out of reach or conveniently out of stock. Also I have always been concerned about the amount of and size of their stores, it's as if they want to abolish choice of stores to shop at.
