McDonald’s Revamps Happy Meals with Four New Items
- McDonald’s introduces Mayo Chicken, Fish Bites, flavored milk, and McFreezy to Happy Meals.
- New items available in 187 locations across the North West UK and Republic of Ireland from May 29.
- Potential nationwide rollout depending on trial success.
McDonald’s is shaking up its beloved Happy Meal for the first time in years by adding four new items. This trial will be limited to the North West UK and selected restaurants in the Republic of Ireland.
Starting May 29, kids can enjoy the Mayo Chicken, which includes crispy-coated chicken with lettuce and mayo in a soft bun. Another addition is Fish Bites—five bite-sized pollock pieces with a crispy panko breadcrumb coating, served with a choice of dip such as BBQ or sweet and sour. These Fish Bites will also be available on the main menu in a nine-piece serving for £5.79.
To complement these mains, McDonald’s is introducing flavored milk in chocolate, strawberry, and banana options, all with natural flavorings and no added sugar. Perfect for summer, the McFreezy—a frozen ice lolly dessert made with fruit juice and puree—will be available in orange or mango and pineapple flavors.
James Flanders at The Sun reported that these new additions will be trialed in 187 locations including Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, North Yorkshire, and various parts of the Republic of Ireland. The trial will last for 14 weeks, and if successful, these items could see a nationwide release next year.
Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, commented, "The new items in the Happy Meal range show McDonald’s commitment to innovation and keeping their menu exciting for families. It’s a fantastic update that brings fresh options for kids to enjoy."
