If you’d love to be the first one to get your hands on brand new products but have no idea how, take a leaf out of this savvy mum’s book.
Lisa Eyre, 43, a married mum of two from Lancashire, regularly bags amazing freebies such as £75 smartwatches, £130 Lego sets and £80 hair straighteners by product testing.
She scours the internet daily to look for opportunities, and also regularly enters competitions.
Some of her winnings include clothing worth £70 and rum worth £50.
Lisa told money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk: "My interest in product testing, competitions and free samples happened by chance a couple of years ago when I came across LatestDeals.co.uk whilst scrolling through Facebook.
"I applied to join out of interest and then started to become aware of different wonderful companies that you can apply to product test for.
"I applied for all that I could and was fortunate to be accepted for companies such as Argos, Tryitsampling, Philips, Clicks Research, Alva Science, Triyit and many more.
"I also love to enter competitions which you can find easily on LatestDeals.co.uk and social media and won a few things which is a real thrill.
"For me, I love the thrill of winning and I’m grateful for all the things I’ve been fortunate to win and product test.
“Just a few things I have won in competitions include a Liverpool FC away shirt worth £70, a Dead Man’s Fingers Rum set worth £50, a Slumberdown cotton touch pillow worth £15 and an Addis big cleaning set laundry basket, lots of cloths and sponges and brushes worth around £50.
“Some of the products I’ve been lucky enough to test include a Lego set worth £130, a smartwatch worth £75, a bottle of gin worth £20 and hair straighteners worth £80.
"It is such a wonderful hobby and allows me to try and sample a wide range of quality products for which I write a review.
"My advice to anyone interested is to be patient.
“It can take a while at first but it’s well worth the wait.
"It doesn’t cost anything, just your time and dedication.
"I spend time every day checking for new offers and opportunities.
"For me, this was an absolute lifesaver as I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and other conditions a few years ago and really struggled to cope with not being able to do what I once could.
"This gave me a sense of purpose and that I am doing something positive and worthwhile. Previously I had worked in the hospitality industry which I loved but now am unable to due to my illnesses but my new hobbies have given me a new road to travel.”
Tom Church, co-founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, comments: “LatestDeals.co.uk is all about helping people find the best opportunities, discounts and deals.
“Product testing is an amazing way of trying out brand new products, all for free, while competitions can help you win everything from shopping sprees and trips abroad to vouchers and even cold hard cash.
“As the saying goes, you’ve got to be in it to win it, so every night, while you’re sitting in front of the TV, take five minutes to enter a few competitions or apply for product testing - you never know what amazing wins you could land for just a few minutes of work."
